In the General Info tab there are a "Changes Made" and "Update Available" Icons.

On or over these icons I would like to see a percentage value of the local profile compared to the profile in the main database.

I don't understand the practical value of this or how it could be implemented. How many % would better cover scans be? The "value" of the data also differs between users.

It could be number of fields changed/profile total fields

So for example full Cast for TV season would contain same % value as Color information? Or Cover scans vs. CoO info. IMHO that doesn't make any sense.

An empty profile has default values for the main sections. I.e. 0. Title, Video Format, Cast, Crew, front cover, back cover. a.s.o.
Any change to these could be flagged internally as "has value". I.e. 1. It need not be any more complex than that.
It shouldn’t then be a problem showing the percentage difference between the local profile and the profile in the main database. This would also show if the profile is new or if it has changed in the main database.

Secondary
Should there ever be a need to get down to the nitty gritty levels. We first need to know exactly what kind of a profile it is. Main feature or a Season. a.s.o. As requested here.

So does any data in a section change the value from 0 to 1?  Even wrong data?  cast in a box set profile would set it to 1 while anything but 0 is wrong.

Most profiles will never reach 100% (whatever that means) since most don't have box set content or Easter eggs.

I see no utility for this at all.  I don't even follow the logic.

Why not just do a Preview Changes?  I added it to the toolbar years ago and it is the button i use most.  Now that Ken has improved the comparison with v3.8 i can tell at a glance what has changed.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

Yea, I share this opinion as well.

Me too, I don't get how to make it work in practise and even if that would be possible I can't see any use for this, sorry.

Result: Profile is new.

LP 2: 17%
MP 2: 61%

Sorry about the format, it was the best I could come up with to show the logic.

I purposefully, left out fields I thought not to be applicable in this.

I still can't see what purpose this would serve as you would still have to compare the profile in order to see what was changed...or am I missing something?

Ah, I see... moving on then.

Locally it would be simple to get the % value.
On the main database side it would probably have to use the collection which we upload and there calculate the % value.
It could then download that calculation table in bulk form together with an update and show the values on the icons.
