| Posted: | | | | having just bought recently the mobile ap for my Iphone and have uploaded to server and then re- installed on my iPhone.. but not being terribly over smart when it comes to all wireless etc ... I have always loaded my video collection onto a small flash drive and then walked across room to laptop to reinstall my updated collection..
so Now I am learning about synchronizing using wireless instead .. I have both main PC and laptop on a sharing basis and now both collections show on the bottom of the profiler page that I am shared and ready .. but when i go to share it says: it was unable to connect ..
using the help button I get directed to a web site to buy some sort of port sharing tool .. ?/

| Posted: | | | | The portforward site has manual instructions for port forwarding - it's not necessary to purchase their automated product. But that is only necessary if you're wanting to access your home collection over the Internet. If you're using a local wifi router, you don't need to forward a port.
If you're getting an unable to connect message:
- Ensure you've entered the IP address and port shown on the bottom bar of DVD Profiler into your iPhone's connection screen - Ensure your iPhone is connected to your local wifi network - If you still can't connect, disable or reconfigure your local software firewall - If you still can't connect, your router is probably segregating your wired and wireless networks. You should be able to disable that setting in your router's wireless or security configuration.
If you need more help, just open a support ticket and detail what you've tried. |

any advice?? you can't share the database at the same time with both the laptop and the desktop. Ignore the sharing bit - that is only applicable for an iphone. Just share the windows directory where the database is and then navigate to this with the laptop (and desktop). then they both use the same files (and can update them etc) | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | The Mobile Synchronization option is for DVD Profiler Mobile, not DVD Profiler for iOS. There is no key required for the iOS program.
Again, if you need more help, just open a support ticket. |
