I am still unable to successfully sync from my iphone to my pc via wifi. It would be very useful if support for sync over USB was implemented.

The app constantly gets a "Unable to connect" while in the middle of the sync and I see the PC version go to not responding.

It would be nice if you could just have it sync the bare minimum--like list of skus/collection numbers and let the ios app just get the rest of the info from the internet--would be so much faster.

I have just started to use the iOS version and have exactly the same problem (machine hangs, and access violation errors).

I am surprised that the sync pushes artwork, surely it is easier to push the SKU etc and let the PC redownload the artwork?

Either way it would be great to have a working sync ...

Synch over USB would indeed be great.

I'm getting the same issue.

On Windows 7 (64-bit) desktop PC, the application pops up a small null alert window, then the main window expands to fill the desktop but has blank white content. I have to force close the software to proceed.

iPad3 app drops connection. Some data may or may not be transferred before the crash.

For those whose DVD Profiler database is "locked" to their iPad/iPhone because the Windows application won't Update (sync) without crashing, here's how to at least get your precious data copied from the iPad, although it does take a bit of work.

First, you need to access the data on the iPad. I used iFunBox (http://www.i-funbox.com/), which is a general purpose iOS file browser that runs on Windows and lets you access the iPad file structure (via the standard USB cable). You'll find you can easily locate the DVD Profiler folders and copy them to your PC.

Next, you need to get the data into a usable format. The app stores the primary data in a SQLite database called Collection.sqlite, so I used SQLite Database Browser (http://sourceforge.net/projects/sqlitebrowser/) to open the database and export it as a CSV text file.

Now it gets tricky. The UPC numbers (ZUPC column) need to be cleaned up - for some reason many of mine had a decimal value that has to be trimmed off. An Excel formula is useful for doing that, but Excel will drop the leading 0 from UPC numbers; Access (if you've got it) will retain it, so you could copy the UPC column from Access and paste into Word, then do multiple Replace operations to remove the decimal portions.

Ultimately though, you can end up with all your UPC codes ready for a batch addition to DVD Profiler for Windows, much quicker and easier than typing them in one by one!

Ignore my previous complicated routine if you're happy to upload to Invelos online and then download from there to your PC!

In the iOS app, select Databases, select your database, Change Connection Type, Connect via DVD Profiler Online
