I'll try to be brief. Have had virtually no problems with iOS and PC syncing.

My PC died. Hard disk to be precise.

I bought a new PC.

My iOS device is fully up to date and included some new entries.

What do I have to do to to sync my iOS device with my new PC and NOT LOSE my iOS data but re-establish my PC?

A backup of the old database is not available.

BTW I've just discovered Online syncing with iOS. Is this an option? If so same question how do I control the data flow from iOS to online or PC?

First thing to do: Make an iTunes backup in case anything goes wrong.

Syncing should work if you install DVDP on your new PC, enable sharing in the settings, check the IP shown at the bottom of DVDP and enter that in the iOS app. Then just sync as you normally would.

To sync with the online database, you need to change the connection type on your iOS device, upload to the online database and download from there on your PC. I would use the direct sync with PC, though. That offers true sync while the online database is simply an upload/download solution.

If anything goes wrong and you loose data on iOS, just restore your iOS device from the iTunes backup.
