| | Posted: | | | | A basic question, I know, but I've paid for the desktop version, the old Mobile version, the iPad version and the Android version. I guess that I have to pay again for the Kindle version although it's also the Android version, as it's only available from the Amazon App store? |

Can the APK file just be downloaded via the browser? In that case, it won't know that I've bought it. |

What am I missing? I presume others have put it on a Kindle after having it on another Android device? "Apps from unknown sources" is turned on, on my Kindle. |

Apps for this can only be downloaded from Amazon. MarkO, it looks like you will have to hack you Kindle to get the play store on it. It is a "basic" version of Android. Amazon runs a "forked" version on the Kindles. Check this out. It's up to you to root or not. I might just try paying for it via the Amazon Store. I'm surprised it was there if I'm honest, and there aren't many reviews there. It's only £4-something, so I'm sure I'll get over it, if I decide to get it again.
The whole sideloading issue is weird. I can see that it could be used to potentially get an APK for an app without paying for it, but more commonly to put something on a Kindle that isn't necessarily available from the Amazon store.
This seems to be an instance where I have kind of paid for it (as on other Android devices I could have it on any number of devices connected to a Google account), it is on the Amazon store, but in this case I'd have to pay purely because of the app-delivery system. |
