Hi

I have an issue with the mobile edition on a HTC Tytn, it seems that my pc edition can't synch with the mobile edition. I get the error message " Unable to find the DVD profiler mobile Installation" Please try to install to the default directory.

I tried to reinstall it without success, the installation does install the program in the default directory and I cant find any way to change it. It may have something to do with the fact that the WM5 edition I have is norwegian and uses a differentnamed directory than the standard english "programfiles".

Does anyone have any solution to this problem? Then I would be really gratefull.

In the latest build (1.0.3) the issue with localized "program files" name should be fixed. At least I can confirm this for german. Maybe Ken forgot to include Norwegian
You can try to move the \DVD Profile Mobile\ folder to a newly created \Program Files\ folder on your device. That fixed the issue in earlier builds.

I have a Moto Q and it doesn't work.  It would be awesome if we could get a smartphone edition.  Thanks.

This program was one of the reasons I've been looking at getting a Smart phone (T-mobile Dash) along with dwindling the number of things I carry. What a bummer this won't work. Oh well maybe in the future . Thank you Ken for what we do have.

The Samsung i730 runs the Pocket PC version of Windows Mobile, which is what DVD Profiler Mobile is designed for.

A Smartphone runs a different operating system, 'Windows Mobile Smartphone' or 'Windows Mobile Standard' for the latest version. The most obvious difference between a Pocket PC and Smartphone is the fact a Pocket PC uses a touch screen, and a Smartphone doesn't. There are other differences which means most applications written for Pocket PC won't run correctly, or even install on a Smartphone.

Just sensing some confusion in this thread about what constitutes a Smartphone so hope that helps.

I do own a Smartphone, so a version of DVD Profiler Mobile would be great! Meanwhile I am using the iSilo method of having a database of my DVD's on my phone.

I just tried this on my Palm Treo 700W (Windows Mobile 5) and it works with one problem that should be an easy fix.  The Treo screen is square, and anything on the screen below 240 can't be accessed.  A setup for 240x240 should work.  A work around might be to allow the left and right buttons to move btween the tabs at the bottom of the screen that I can't get to... I noticed that this works when viewing details from the upcoming discs screen.  (I just posted this to the BETA thread)

Ken, if you want me to try a patch for this, I'd be happy to test it out while you wait for your new cell phone...

Thanks
Don

Me too!  I'm a programmer by trade and computer geek by hobby.  I'll be happy to test out anything you want for a Treo 700w and will buy it if it works!

when you sync, can you choose the memory card? I have a Tytn and can only choose the main memory... In another PDA I can select the SD-Card.

I'm very interested in this mobile version, but I have my eyes set on the new HTC S710 (specs n pics in link).

It has a powerful processor, a big screen... the only thing is that it aint touchscreen, so it runs Windows Mobile 6 Standard.

I'd love to run DVDP in this device.

I'm getting it on august 1st, either that or a similar/better one if it comes out...

I also have the HTC tyTn WM5 (NOT smartphone) and it all works fine here. It's also happily installed on the memory card as well.

As I said it works fine for me, could it be that you are running the Beta desktop version and the non Beta Mobile? If so apparently they won't work together??

I too would love to get support for my Motorola Q.  I would definitely buy the Unlimited Mobile version if this happened.

If we get enough commitment from people to buy, in the event that it does become supported ... it may provide some motivation.

i'd buy DVDP mobile in an instant if it works with my phone (either S710 or S730, HTC)

Actually, DVDP mobile is now a factor in my choice of phone (buying in august when I get to the US)

I'll second that, I just tried DVD Profiler Mobile on my HTC S710 and it doesn't work, I can act as a beta tester for VM6 Smartphone edition if needed!

Keep up the good work!
