How Are Unrecognized Scanned Titles Handled?

How does DVD Profiler react when something you scan isn't in the database?  I need to buy a wireless scanner and scan a massive DVD collection that isn't in the same room as my computer.  If something hangs DVD Profiler to wait for me to do something about an unrecognized bar code, I might scan a thousand titles and come back to find that only three have been entered.

And then, if I'm in another room scanning movies, how will I know which ones aren't recognized by the DVD Profiler database so I can put them aside and bring the stack with me to the computer so I can add them manually?

I just need to know if I can do this all in one sweep or if I'm going to have to bring armloads of DVDs to the computer so I can make sure each title is actually added and doesn't need manual entry.

Thanks for any info!

It asks you for title etc.

DVD Profiler can import UPCs as lists, that would be my way of doing it.

Scan a ~100 titles at a time into a simple text-file and then load this via the Add DVD dialog.
If a title is not recognized you have t go back to the batch you just scanned and try to find it.
Thinking about it, you have the text-file so you should be able to lookup the UPC before the unrecognized (Alt&F10) and the title behind that on the shelf is the culprit.

This would work also.

I was hoping for at least some kind of audio cue that a DVD was not accepted.  If it could be like that, I would keep scanning for positive beeps and I'd toss aside negative beeps for manual entry.  But if a "not found" entry hogs the entry space without letting the scanner enter a new code, scanning in all these movies is going to be very annoying.

Not to all the 1-post spammers, I did not reply to Matthaeus.

But I've learned the lesson Invelos Forum Moderation taught me: Refrain from occasional spontaneous replies, bbbbb, be polite.
