I used the "Check for program updates..." menu item on the Online page in the 3.0.0 version and for some reason it launched Internet Explorer instead of FireFox.  The program should use the default browser, not the crappy Internet Explorer.  Can this be fixed for a future release?

Mine doesn't open IE either.

Mine opens up IE7 from 'Check for Program Updates'. It also opens up IE7 from View Contributors > View Contribution Notes.

Everything else opens up in Firefox.

Strange... Perhaps I have something configured in my system that overrides DVDPro's attempt of opening IE.
If firefox is already open, for instance, DVDPro will open its target in a new tab. If not, it'll open the browser.

Another Opera user with O as system's default. When opening a link in DVDP, like View Contributors, IE 7 is invariably opened. Even if O runs [most of the time].

I think that first window that opens is a small dvd profiler internal browser for connecting to invelos servers and has nothing to do with IE7. Process Explorer is not finding an IE7 active when the 1st windows open. When clicking a link in the first window then you start up your default browser.

Yes, but if you click a link from that windows, it opens in IE7.

depends on the user settings in XP software configuration:
in the left column you have 4 options
- Alter programs or remove
- add new programs
- add window components or remove
- program access en settings (or simular like these)
select the program access
you have now 3 options:
° Microsoft Windows
° None Microsoft
° Adapted (click on it)
now you can choose the operation of your browser
° use current browser
° IE
° Opera (choose this one) or Firefox
°

If you right click on a link in DVDProfiler's Update window or the window for View Contributors, you'll see that it gives you the IE7 right click menu. So that must be why it opens up an IE7 window for those pages and does not open the default browser.
