When viewing the details of a title entry, after selecting either cast or crew, I get the following error message if I select a specific cast/crew member:

Quote:
Error
An unexpected error has occurred in DVD Profiler Mobile.exe. Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.

An error message cannot be displayed because an optional resource assembly containing it cannot be found.

This does not happen with every single cast/crew member I select -- a few will display the proper list of all titles they appear in, but many selections generate this error message.

My setup: DVD Profiler Mobile 1.0.1, Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Version 4.21.1088 on a Dell Axim X50v.  I've synched all data to the SD memory card.

I just upgraded to DVD Profiler Mobile v1.0.2, and am still encountering the same issue with the same cast/crew members.  I completely deleted v1.0.1 and all data files, re-installed v1.0.2, re-synched with DVD Profiler 3.0.1, and still get the errors.

Yes I have this issue too with the 1.0.2 version. Each time I select a cast member to view the details of this cast member.

Well, this issue has mysteriously gone away. When I now select cast/crew members that consistently caused the error -- Humphrey Bogart and Alfred Hitchcock, for example -- they now work correctly.

The only thing that has changed since I last received this error is that I had moved a few titles from "upcoming releases" to "wish list" on my PDA, and then synched those changes back to the DVD Profiler 3.0.2 database on my PC.  This is the first and only time I have synched changes from the PDA to the PC -- all other synchros sent data from the PC to the PDA only.

Also, one other function that was not working properly has now begun to work correctly.  Previously, the only cast member I could select to see what other titles s/he appears in was the director credit (when it did not error out, that is).  Nothing would happen when I would select other crew members, such as producer, screeenwriter, etc.  Now, I can select any crew listing and have it expand to a list of other titles where s/he appears.

I have no idea if the PDA -> PC synch is what corrected the problems, but it's the only thing I've done differently.

Hello All,

I am new to these programs and have just paid for both the DVD Profiler 3 and Profiler Mobile.

I too keep having the Profiler Mobile crashing whenever I select a Cast Member. It seems to work ok for Crew, but not Cast.

Is there any chance someone could recommend something please. This really is a super program.

Thanks for all the work.

Regards

Adrian

Adrian,

I would suggest trying what seems to have corrected the error on my PDA.  On Profiler Mobile, go into the "Upcoming Releases" area, select a title, and move it to your wish list.  Then synch Profiler Mobile up with DVD Profiler 3.x.  You can always delete the title from your wish list afterwards.

I would love to hear if it fixes your issue, too.  I cannot confirm that is was the cure for me, but it was the only thing I did differently.

Please help!  I have been trying to evaluate DVD Profiler Mobile for several months now but it crashes frequently.  This program is one of the main reasons I got my phone which runs Windows Mobile 6 Pro.  I have installed and uninstalled the program many times, installed it to main memory as well as to the external card, but it continues to crash.

There are two things in particular which seem to cause it to crash.  Clicking on a cast or crew member always causes it to crash.  Scrolling causes it to crash on occasion.  I am running it unregistered (could this be the problem?)  I tried smerryfield's suggestion but apparently you cannot sync upcoming releases in unregistered mode.

I am running the registered version of the desktop (3.1.1 build 1171).  The mobile version is 1.0.2.

I was going to input a trouble ticket but the options appear to only apply to problems with ordering, installing and registering.  I did not see an option for problems with the program itself.

If there is anyone who can help, I would greatly appreciate it.  I am ready to lay down some cash for this program!
