I'm curious about how you catalog your holiday titles in your collection.  Are they just "mixed in" with all of your other titles?  Do you separate them?  And if so, how?  Do you modify the title to have some kind of indication that it's a holiday title?  Do you make a "box set" called Holiday titles and put everything in there?

I'm kind of at a crossroads on what I want to do with mine.  Larger scale, I want to be able to identify titles that take place during the holidays (let's just say Christmas for argument's sake, but can include any holidays that take place in/around December).  This would include Die Hard, but not its sequels.  I don't want to separate items from franchises (using Die Hard again as an example).

Where I'm currently leaning toward is adding the word [holiday] after the title of the movie, then I can search for [holiday] and all titles that have that would show up in the results.

But I'm curious how you handle them...

Mine are just mixed in with everything else, but if I did want to identify "holiday" movies I'd probably use either TAGS or CUSTOM GENRES.

I created a custom genre "Christmas". Then you can use the filters to see which title have this genre ticked.

Other genres I use are "Romantic Comedy" and "Mystery". Of course, those are local only. If you contribute a profile with any local genres, they get deleted in the contributed profile.

I "separate" them with tags.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.

I use tags to *separate* them out in my collection. It's easy to set up and maintain. And to look up when I'm in the mood to watch a holiday film.

I learn something new every time I visit the forums. Thanks for the suggestions!  "Tags" it is!

I have a Holiday tag, and then subcategory tags under it, including Yuletide.  I used to keep them in their own binder, but space issues brought them into the binders with the rest of the movies.
