Although we encourage users to reward helpful posts, positive feedback can be used for any reason. You can spend all your positive feedback on one person or spread it out among many.
Negative feedback should only be used when warranted. Although this can be subjective, here are some general guidelines:
If you find yourself about to rate a post negative based solely on the poster's identity, take a moment to consider whether the content of the post is detrimental to the community.
Administrators will monitor feedback and will take action where needed. In questionable cases, the feedback may be removed. In cases of gross misuse of the rating system, the rater's reputation may be lowered by the administrator. In repeated cases of gross misuse, the rater's privilege to rate posts may be revoked. Before taking any action against your account, administrators will contact the user via PM, and will give warnings first whenever possible.
The following example sets up a custom genres tag section to let you categorize your collection:
When DVD Profiler encounters an error displaying a thumbnail, it displays the title with a red background to indicate the error.
First, run a database repair via Tools->Options->Utilities, or via the Windows Start menu, in the DVD Profiler group
If the images still show in error, try rebuilding the thumbnails. Right-click the thumbnail view and select "Rebuild Thumbnails"
If a particular profile still shows red after the repair, it indicates the image file is likely damaged. Try refreshing the image via Online->Refresh DVD from Invelos->Refresh Images Only, or by editing the image directly.
First, check for other running programs which may be monopolizing system resources. Right-click the task bar and select Start Task Manager. Click the CPU column to sort and look for programs which are using significant CPU time. Consider if any can be closed. In particular programs which make heavy use of the hard drive can cause DVD Profiler to start and operate more slowly.
Each of the following will change/remove some functionality, so read before trying, but each is also reversable if you don't like the change.
Taken together, these changes will shave up to 40% from the program startup time. Start with #1 or #2 and check the performance change before continuing.
1) Uninstall (not just unload) any plugins you don't use. You can uninstall the ones that ship with DVD Profiler by uninstalling the program (don't select to remove your database or other important items), then reinstalling without plugins.
2) Select Tools->Options->Defaults and under "Regions to Include," uncheck any regions you don't need loaded. This affects the list of available profiles in the Add to Collection window.
3) Add a registry entry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Invelos Software\DVD Profiler, called 'DisableEffects' as a DWORD value and set it to '1'. Program windows will not fade in/out.
4) Add a registry entry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Invelos Software\DVD Profiler, called 'ConserveMemory' as a DWORD value and set it to '1'. You may notice flickering or extra individual item painting in some areas such as the collection thumbnail list.
First, check to ensure that available space is sufficient on the mobile device destination. Also ensure that your device has the latest firmware, as errors writing large and/or many files to memory cards can be caused by out of date firmware.
If writing through ActiveSync still generates errors, you can bypass them by using the direct memory card writing synchronization in DVD Profiler 3.5 and higher. Here's how to set this up:
Once this is set up, you can perform synchronizations by connecting your mobile device and placing the card into your desktop's card reader. DVD Profiler will remember the other settings and complete the synchronization.
