I've just got a new PC running Windows 7 and the dates in DVDPro are displayed in US format (mm/dd/yy) instead of UK (dd/mm/yy)

My localisation settings in windows are fine and I've selected English (UK) in DVDPro settings.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Was asked before.
Look at this:

I haven't read, so I can't say if it brought a solution.

No there never was a solution in either that thread or the original one.

I don't understand that one as I've used all publically released versions from the beta onwards and in each case the date has been correctly shown by UK standards.

Sorry I couldn't give a solution.

Thanks for the link to the other thread. I'd forgotten how useless the search is here as searching for "Date" in thread titles didn't bring that up.

I didn't have this problem with my previous PC running all versions of windows 7.

This PC is an Acer model that had 7 pre-loaded.

I've just tried the beta of DVDPro but that's the same.

Perhaps a silly question, but have you checked how date and time is formatted in general on your PC, by going into the control panel > Regional and Language options > General. There it should say how, in general on your PC the dates are formatted. That has an impact on DVDP, I've noticed.

I've managed to fix this by:

Closing DVDPro
Changed localisation in windows from UK to US
Opened DVDPro (date was US format as expected)
Closed DVDPro
Changing localisation in windows from US to UK
Opened DVDPro and date format now correct in UK format.

It appears to be working now after rebooting and re-opening DVDPro a few times, so fingers-crossed it's ok now

Glad to hear it works now. If it happens again, you can go into the Regional and language settings again and in the first tab (General it is called I think), you can manually set the format for both long and short dates by entering dd mm and yy (or yyyy) in the way you want them to appear.

Glad to hear someone finally found a fix for this bug.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Thanks Gadgeteer, I have been suffering from this problem since first installing Windows 7 and none of the other solutions offered worked, but yours certainly does, for which I am eternally grateful. Your post was brought to my attention by another member of the forum in response to a plea I had put up some while ago about this 'bug' and I had despaired of it ever being fixed, particularly as it seems to affect some Windows 7 users but not others.

This has fixed my problem as well. It must be a bug somewhere since the format was showing perfectly correctly in every other program on the (in my case) laptop with a fresh install of windows 7. With the previous windows 7 it had been working..

I did notice when I first went into dvd profiler that the default install seemed to have gone for US locality - and it just didn't seem to pick up when I changed this to UK in the program.

Well I am facing another serious problem here. Not only my dates are still in wrong format but when I backup and restore the database, all the dates submitted by myself are gone - purchase date and the release dates from my profiles. Also, no dates are imported to my iOS devices. Any help?

This is a localization problem of M$ which usually appears if your OS-installation was created by an image (a.k.a. Recovery-DVD). Please contact the Microsoft support or the manufacturer of your machine (OEM-support).

So I bought both the desktop and iOS versions of DVDP, none of them are working and the one to blame is MS? OK, so what problem do I have, what needs to be corrected? Or do I have to tell MS support that DVDP is not working?

M$ is fully aware of this date format problem.
Usually setting Windows to default locality USA -> Restart -> Resetting locality to correct value -> Restart should fix the problem. If it doesn't only the provider of your OEM software can help you. Be aware that Microsoft is not giving technical support on OEM-products.

EDIT: BTW there's absolutely no need for your tone, I'm just another user trying to help you. If this assistance isn't welcome. Just say so.
