| Posted: | | | | it is definitely a constant battle to keep hair out of everything. Like I said in the new place, the DVD's have their own room. So do the cats for that matter, and its the only room besides the kitchen and the living room they are allwed in since we keep all the other doors shut. |

| Posted: | | | | This is my current setup. My dad and I built this shelving when I purchased my home 5 years ago. It is approx. 13 feet across by 7 feet tall. I plan on putting a theater in my new home when I move(In about 2 years) but will still build something like this to store my media. |

Just out of curiosity: what are those... things... on the top shelf (between the TV + CDs and the ceiling)? | | | Mika I hate people who love me, and they hate me. (Bender Bending Rodriguez) |

| Posted: | | | | -lol- katharsis is close. They are Tech Decks. Tech Decks(For those w/out children or unfamiliar) are miniature skateboards complete with interchangable wheels/trucks etc. They are made to replicate the largest skateboarding teams in the world. - When designing the shelving(Which is a really nice looking Cherry birch wood BTW. I wish i had better pictures) I had to leave space at the top to run all of my mess of wires behind the shelving. Obviously, every individual shelf had to have a clearance hole because there is no way of getting behind this thing. Anyway, The first thing that i notice after putting in my electronics was all of the wires hanging from the drop ceiling behind my media and television. It drove me crazy so as a quick fix, I hung a few of these Tech Decks behind there to cover them. Tech Deck Example: Here is a another shot of my shelving: P.S. McFarlane does make some really neat figures. I have some of the Movie Maniacs and a few athletes as well. His detail is amazing. Kudos!!! |

Unless they swollow it . -lmao Yeah...It's funny because my 5 year old son loves skateboarding and it scares me to death!!! I grew up skateboarding but was never too extreme therefore, never the best. My brother-in-law is pro and always gives my son Decks, wheels, protective gear, clothing and everything else he gets from sponsers and my son thinks he is the coolest. My son is also fearless and it terrifies me to think of him getting hurt like these guys often do. I make him wears more gear than a football player when i take him to the skate park. . On a posative note, It keeps him healthy and active. I'm glad he enjoy's things like this as opposed to sitting on the couch watching movies and playing video games all day like his Daddy. -Sorry for the OT |

| Posted: | | | | Darn! Almost... Heard about those tech decks before but I didnt know that there are so many of them out there. Sounds pretty interesting too now, that you mentioned you can change the wheels etc... I really dig the setup of the whole area. I am not very handy thus we decided to buy some furniture, which of course do not have enough storage space for all the DVDs, so I had to split them into smaller sections all over the apt. Even been thinking about making small shelving along the ceiling Can't wait to move and get a proper entertainment room. Used to have a load of McFarlane toys, but sold a bunch due to space restrictions and also because I found Sideshow Toys statues and busts to be more appealing. I'll try to post some pics soon. | | | - Life is just a form of animated death. |
