It gets things done in a twisted way maybe, but hopefully its result is more complete than the idea of only one. Quote: I'm sure this would probably be a programming nightmare Well, I honestly don't think so. The nightmare will be the update of existing data. Central and local. | | | Lernu la internacian lingvon |

Overview could just have all the languages printed out as they appear on the cover. That was easy wasn't it.
(I'm sure this would probably be a programming nightmare, but would clear up a ton of un-needed profiles and make for a better overall DB, if it's possible) Best idea ever.. For the scandinavian coop there is many different combinations of countries included. FIN/SWE/DAN/NOR, FIN/SWE/NOR, SWE/DAN/NOR and so on (this could also lead to a common cast and crew for all of us <-- whispering) | | | We are all at the same age, only at different time... |

For music DVDs in Europe I tend to go by the ratings on the cover. Quite often, there are both German and UK ratings, so I usually choose one of these two localities (with my choice based on what's already in the database - is there already a profile? if there are two, which is the best?).
With regard to Sxilderik's original case: as there are no French ratings, it does not belong in the France locality. Same for other Benelux releases sold in France.
One final complication for multilingual countries such as Belgium. I know of at least one case where the actual disc was the same, but the cover art and even the SRP were different for the two main language communities of Belgium (French vs. Flemish). The French version had an EAN, the Flemish version didn't. In the end, someone contributed the Flemish version to the Netherlands locality (even though it's a Belgium-only release)...
I was wondering how this sort of situation is being handled in countries like Switzerland. |

Usually the language is the same with music dvds, because record companies use the same cover. Same as cd's. I agree though with Patsa's comment about the release date. Well, it was just a thought... |
