So how do you tell the device NOT to be connected as external storage?

Connected through USB in debugging mode (if not, the device is not even visible at all).

I found the following which may be a partial workaround:

You can run the exporter plugin without trying to find the Android device. This creates a database "droid_dvdp.db" in the subfolder Droid_DVDP in Documents (on your PC).
This file can be copied by any available means (WiFi, USB) to the droid_dvdp\database folder on the Android device.

This seems to work, although obviously without the thumbnails. I do get some strange messages, such as "No cast for this profile" at the end of a list of 11 cast (15 allowed), but I have no idea if this is related to my method of transferring the data.

That being said, this doesn't look bad on a tablet, particularly if you turn it in Portrait mode. During the turn you may get switched to another tab though.

Yep, I did the same afte I didn't get AcerSync to do the job.
As for covers, I simply copied everything into the /sdcard/droid_dvdp/images and of I go.

The scrolling seems to be a bit buggy tho. If I hold the phone vertical, scroll, and try to use the upcoming scroll-button on the right it repeatedly crashes the app somewhere around the letter s. Holding it horizontal works strangely enough.

What is the "everything" you copied into the images folder? And what about the thumbnails folder?

All the images-files (including the sub-folder 'thumbnails) from "\Users\$Username\Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\$Databasename\Images\" on your PC go to /sdcard/droid_dvdp/images on your Android.

I exported almost all the profiles, so I need 90% of the covers anyway.
As for the "almost all": I don't need all the childprofiles for series and no parents for movie-boxsets, so I export only titles with a collection-number which happens to be exactly everything else.

Guys, here are some explanations about how it works.

The application on the device create the directory droid_dvdp in the directory it gets from the Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory().getAbsolutePath() function.

The directory is displayed in the setting & tools. Typically, it should be /mnt/sdcard/droid_dvdp.

You must enable 'USB debugging' in the 'settings' -> 'applications' -> 'Development'
and/or (not sure yet, but I think its OR)
Have HTC sync installed on the PC
The device MUST NOT BE CONNECTED AS EXTERNAL STORAGE (in this mode, the device cannot access the sdcard), and not in charge only, but it must be in HTC SYNC.

Hope this will help.

Oliver.
Can you even run HTC Sync with a non HTC phone?  Isn't that considered the the "driver" for the phone?

Cannot locate  'droid_dvdp_is_here'

Phone: HTC EVO 3D (Sprint)

(the about of the app shows the path as being correct. Using an app called Explorer, the  'droid_dvdp_is_here' is in the correct path.

Am doing that now. Going to take hours for just the thumbnails (guess I should somehow have left out the backs).

I wouldn't call it epic fail.
Olivier programmed this in his free time for the community for free.
This is now a beta-stage on the first day.
It is just not a good start, but which software is 100% good on first beta day?

Even with a slow start, this is light years ahead of anything Invelos has to offer for Android.

There are easy work around for some of this. I am buried at work and I'll post up asap as I close the shop.

I had some issues on the kindle because it only mounts the device as a HD

This is very simple

Pssst... Hi Robert!
Just keep in mind, not everyone is familiar with Android "under the hood".  Hell, I've been doing command line, folders, etc. since DOS 4, so the concepts carry.
The problems are the software, and folder structures to MAKE it happen.
