| Posted: | | | | The next one. The english actor Kevin McNally or Kevin R. McNally? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0573618/ It seems that Kevin McNally is his "real" name but in the last years he is mostly credited as Kevin R. McNally. Both names can be found in the Invelos Actor Database and both names are used in profiles. |

I am a firm believer in the theory that more data is better. Having the "R." in the name further specifies this individual and may in fact be the bit that distinguishes him from another "Kevin McNally" that we haven't yet discovered or hasn't yet made his splash. If we knew his middle name was 'Richard', my preference would be to use that. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | I agree with, Hal. But we really need a standard format which is why I still refuse to play with Common Names. Someone else might discover that he is most commonly credited as Kevin McNally and change the data with documentation, and guess what, without a standard format his answer would be just as correct as what appears to be the actor's given name(at least in part). So until a format is created we are just inviting editing wars...but its up to you.

| Posted: | | | | I've been having trouble with the late Mr. Belushi. Is he Jim or is he James (or James/'Jim'/Belushi, in which case both entries I have for him require "credited as")? Married names also can become an issue (e.g. Sheri//Moon or Sheri//Moon Zombie; Robin//Wright or Robin//Wright Penn).
Is there a possibility of having a master list of common names? If it's on the list, the big stick says that's how they're credited. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) | | | Last edited: by W0m6at |

| Posted: | | | | Regarding Kevin McNally:
Isn't the autograph depicted above proof that the actor himself regards "Kevin R. McNally" as his "real" name? Especially since the autograph card only has "Kevin McNally" printed at the top, and he still signed it "Kevin R. McNally". | | | Lutz |
