I'd handle like the Herzog version of Nosferatu. I don't remember how that is off-hand, but can check later.

This was a reported bug in the beta. Ken thought he fixed it, but I guess not.

Checking out various articles on places like CNET there is unlikely to be ANY reason to upgrade from 1.4 - manufacurers just want to charge more for 2.0 or 2.1... which is the port standard NOT the 'dumb cable' required. Unless you have really long cable runs or need speed/bandwidth for online gaming upgrading is unlikely to be necessary.

I don't think that's correct. 1.4 only supports 4K at 24 fps. That's fine for most movies, but all signs point to higher framerates becoming standard in the near future. Also, 3D is likely going to be revived once a couple technological hurdles are cleared.

It already does this when adding them.

Box Sets on the other hand are quite empty, because most info belongs to the child profiles only except info regarding every movie in this box set like one digital copy code for three movies.

The rules don't support this. Recent discussion determined digital copies go on the individual movies.

A combo which includes HD media (HD-DVD, Blu-ray) as well as DVD should use the details from the HD media in the main profile.

I would assume that since both UHD and BD are both HD Media, that details for both would be in the main profile.

But in a related matter, this would also seem to say to not list the details of the dvd in a BD/DVD combo pack in the main profile, even if the dvd contains more features than the BD.

Yes. This is saying not to include DVD-only special features on BD/DVD combo packs. (A lot of early MGM releases were like this.) I'd think by the same principle, a UHD/HD combo pack should only include details from the UHD and the BD info should go on a child profile. This would be consistent with how we handle similar scenarios.

You have to wait for someone. IIRC, the only UHD PC drives right now are internal drives for desktops.

EDIT: DVDFab and SlyFox will possibly NEVER offer 4k support. They have come out and said that they are not developing it. I suspect that they 'made a deal' to be allowed to keep doing Bluray but not 4k so the studios would leave them alone. Just my personal take.

I agree that this is likely the case.

What I am concerned mostly with, is being able to play a 4K disc on my PC, which Cyberlink claims it can do, and being able to read 4K UHD discID into DVD Profiler. I still don't know if that is possible. Is that what you were saying?

You can do this. You need WinDVD Pro 12 or other current software that can play UHD and a compatible drive.

Vice-versa, too. I don't have a drive that can get IDs for UHD.

I voted no. For those actors, their job while filming was clearly not a "voice only" job. They did not dubbed drawings, they really played in front of cameras.

Most American animation voice work is done before the animation.

Since the Digital Copy is a check box in the features.... and the box set rules say features go to the child profiles not the parent... I would say that is how we do it.

This was my thinking in the ones I submitted.

There's no clear precedent, but I think basing on the number of codes is a silly, arbitrary distinction. There are plenty of movies in the DB that weren't done this way. Also, putting it on the individual features gives us a way to capture it if some movies in the collection aren't covered by the code, which sometimes happens with bonus feature films.

My syncing has been very inconsistent since the update. It worked with the previous version consistently.

If the movie already exists in the database, download a different version of it, then change the UPC, release date, cover art, etc. If not, there's not really a shortcut.

Agreed with the people who say stories about musicians and them singing as part of what are considered performances in narrative should have the music genre. Musicals using singing in places where it wouldn't make sense in real life.

I think the issue is that Scream Factory isn't a company at all. It's a label Shout! uses. It doesn't have employees or offices or a corporate charter or a website. Shout! Factory employees work on things that are given a special label if the genre fits.

I'm wondering, what an Off-Set-Special-Effects-Supervisor is. A coward?

They supervise effects that are done in post, not live on-set.

This isn't very common with TV series, but it is common for movies.

I create a manual for that, same as any other case where I have two identical releases for some reason.

No and no. This would apply to every box set ever released. If the cover art is the same, there's no sense making duplicate profiles that are identical except for the SRP and maybe the release date. We don't create an alternate profile every time the SRP changes, so I'd think this wouldn't be allowed for the same reasons.

I would consider it a TV episode and as such not have it's own profile per the rules. Just like I see the Masters of horror a TV Series and those being episodes.

Those episodes may not have their own profiles, but they are profiled. If there were multiple episodes from the same show, I'd be for profiling them together, but I don't see anything in the rules that would suggest not to profile it at all.

If it's 40 minutes or more it's a bonus feature film. If it's not, then just goes in other special features.
