My syncing has been very inconsistent since the update. It worked with the previous version consistently.

If the movie already exists in the database, download a different version of it, then change the UPC, release date, cover art, etc. If not, there's not really a shortcut.

Agreed with the people who say stories about musicians and them singing as part of what are considered performances in narrative should have the music genre. Musicals using singing in places where it wouldn't make sense in real life.

I think the issue is that Scream Factory isn't a company at all. It's a label Shout! uses. It doesn't have employees or offices or a corporate charter or a website. Shout! Factory employees work on things that are given a special label if the genre fits.

I'm wondering, what an Off-Set-Special-Effects-Supervisor is. A coward?

They supervise effects that are done in post, not live on-set.

This isn't very common with TV series, but it is common for movies.

I create a manual for that, same as any other case where I have two identical releases for some reason.

No and no. This would apply to every box set ever released. If the cover art is the same, there's no sense making duplicate profiles that are identical except for the SRP and maybe the release date. We don't create an alternate profile every time the SRP changes, so I'd think this wouldn't be allowed for the same reasons.

I would consider it a TV episode and as such not have it's own profile per the rules. Just like I see the Masters of horror a TV Series and those being episodes.

Those episodes may not have their own profiles, but they are profiled. If there were multiple episodes from the same show, I'd be for profiling them together, but I don't see anything in the rules that would suggest not to profile it at all.

If it's 40 minutes or more it's a bonus feature film. If it's not, then just goes in other special features.

Yep. This definitely falls under the "other symbols" clause.

I'm having the same problem. It worked for a while after upgrade, but stopped a few days ago. It won't connect.

Aren't these kind of distinctions quickly becoming obsolete?

What is a Netflix series, television or online or both?

What is a Netflix film that is released both online and in theaters?

That's why I thought direct-to-video and online should maybe not be separate.

I'm like to get rid of television as a genre and add an origins field. You could mark stuff as theatrical, television or direct-to-video. We might also want web original or that should maybe be considered a kind of direct-to-video.

Production year filters, no matter which option you select, seem to always be treated as a greater-than search.

I doesn't appear that DVD Profiler android allows us to search based on overview text. There are lots of fields we can search, but that isn't one of them. It would be useful

Yes. We should go by official release date. If some outlet broke street date, that's really hard to verify.

For ease of use, I would say to just allow the CoO to be based on all of the companies involved...it's how IMDb seems to do it.

For me, it's useless information anyway, so why make it more complicated than it needs to be?  In my opinion, it is far more interesting to know where the movie was filmed, rather than where the production company is based.

I don't think that's really the salient information in most cases. Would listing Star Wars, which was made by American and British people for a primarily American and British audience as Tunisian really mean much? I think who it was made by and for are the important info here, not where they shot.

I feel I should also point out the fact that it has also been established that 3D is not a media type at all, there is no '3D Blu-ray' media check box, so what we really have here are two Blu-rays with different 'video formats'.

It's been established that we treat them as such in this instance. That's the whole reason we are applying combo pack rules and Ken had to treat these 3D sets as combo packs.

Precedent is never. Series like this have existed since before DVD Profiler 1.0 did and we've never entered this.

The Blu-ray version of Notorious and Spellbound. MGM oublished 3 Hitchcock movies in 2013. Criterion picked up Rebecca, but the other 2 are in limbo now.

It may have been a Wal-Mart exclusive which is getting a wide release now. Or Wal-Mart may have put it out early.
