Good for you.

Yes it's a good deal.

I saw that they (and by they I mean in general, and not Meijer) that they have fully cooked smoked turkeys now. I think it was from Butterball. And I think I saw it in an Aldis ad. Wonder if it's any good.

What's weird, is that I have bought both Butterball and Sara Lee turkey breast from the deli and I like the Sara Lee over the Butterball. To me it had better taste and seemed to have a texture more close to an actual turkey. You know like you can see the grain of the turkey in each slice.

Butterball was still good, but Sara Lee had it beat imo.

I guess you missed the three day sale that ended yesterday.
Same conditions, but the turkey would have been 38cents per pound.

What makes me feel old are anniversary editions.

25Th Anniversary this, 30th Anniversary that and on and on.
I can remember these movies just hitting the theaters or in terms of really old movies when I saw them on tv for the first time as a kid and now it's decades later.

In terms of those vids with kids, if those kids can't figure out a walkman they probably couldn't put a tape in a VCR.

But it goes the other way too. I've never used Bluetooth and haven't got the foggiest idea of how it works. All I know is its not necessary in my life and I can live without it.

an Art Director is an Art Director whether they have a prefix or not.

Similarly, we could also say that a "sound effects editor" is still a "sound editor", just one whose job is defined in a specific way. Same for "On-Set Art Director": still an art director, but one whose job is defined in a specific way. No matter what the outcome of this debate is, I really don't see how you can accept one and not the other. If we want to open up crew credits like this, then we shouldn't be surprised if users will apply that premise accross the board. If an "On-Set Art Director" is deemed valid, I don't see why a "Sound Effects Editor" wouldn't be valid either.

I disagree.

One is a job description the other is a location.

In the case of a sound effects editor it's clearly an editor that deals only with sound effects.
Whereas an on set special effects supervisor is special effects supervisor who does their work on set.

So, based upon that the special effects supervisor is location based I'd say include them.

Edit: I see it's about art director. Still think they should be included as explained above.

Personally, I like it just the way it is.  When I purchase a specific release, I do so based on the Blu-ray.  The DVD, much like the digital copy, is just a bonus and I do not profile it.

This is the way I view it also.

---------------

What about cases where the DVD of the film has all the extras and the bluray is barebones?

Bulletproof Monk combo pack is set up that way.
If you exclude the DVD from the combo pack the main profile is basically barebones. The DVD child has many extras from featurettes to commentary.

In terms of profiling the main media type, I own a few bluray 3-D combo packs.
The 3-D disc is useless to me.
I've looked at the backs of some of these and the back states that the disc is just the movie in 3-D.
No extras whatsoever.

Yet the main profile includes the extras from the 2-D bluray.
Thus making it appear that the 3-D has extras when in fact it doesn't.
Thus not accurately reflecting what's on the main media types disc.

In the case of Dredd the bluray disc contains both the 3-D and 2-D versions on the one disc. Thus the profile accurately depicts what's on the disc.

I don't own the individual seasons. Only in the complete series set.

But if the covers on Tvshowsondvd is accurate the artwork for the individual sets match that on what's in the complete series set.

Don't know about the back covers.

Perhaps someone who owns the individual season sets can compare them to the pics posted above.

Personally I think that these combo packs should be handled like box sets.

Just plain details in the main profile, no features, no cast, crew. Just data about the case.

Then child profiles for the individual discs.
I think this would more accurately copy the true nature of the pack.

Two for, two against.

Here's a thing though.

I've bought individual season sets way before the Complete Series was released.

Now when I go and buy the Complete Series the program will automatically move the individual set that I bought much earlier into the Complete Series profile.

This doesn't  accurately reflect that I own two sets of the first season.

So in reality I'd have conflicting release dates compared to the Complete Series us intact SRPs that screw up local data.

I was wondering how we treat Tv season sets that are repackaged into complete series sets.

For example Combat!: The Complete Series was released in November of 2013.
The individual season sets were released prior to that throughout 2013.
Each season set has their own release date which differs from the Complete Series set and they also have their SRP.

Since these season sets were repackaged into a Complete Series set at a later date do they count as alternate versions?
If so, would the release date for each season set change to that of the Complete Series and would the SRP be stripped from the season sets?

I don't think anyone really knows.
But he hasn't even visited this site in years, being that he was so into dvds and the program it must be something preventing him from even visiting the site.

The best we can hope for is that he's alive and just moved on.

Someone posted a suggestion about how to highlight when a person has died in the collected features topic.

I though it was a good idea.

I think the best way to handle it would be to add the ability to add the year of death.

Now this would be a local only feature, unless in a rare case when two people share the same birth year the year of death for one could be contributed to separate the two.

I'm doing season three of The Goldbergs and came across an actress that has the same name as an actor.

Alex Jennings.

As far as I can tell this actress is not yet in the database, but I'm sure that someone will eventually contribute these seasons on The Goldbergs with this actress in the cast.

So this is a early birth year, that at present isn't needed but will be once someone contributes profiles with this actress.

I don't know if this is even possible or not.

But since only a simple episode list is supposed to be included in the overview and not episode synopsis for each episode I think that it would be a cool feature that an episode synopsis could show up in a pop-up window when one hovers the cursor over the episode divider in either the cast or crew section.
