Indeed, there shouldn't be child profiles for these discs. Quoting the contribution rules:
Quote:
If a Box Set contains discs of Bonus Material for individual films, do not create separate profiles for these discs.

Except it is NOT a Box Set, it is a single film.

And later in that same rule the following is shown.
Quote:
If there is a disc of Bonus Material for all films included in the Box-set, create a separate profile for this disc.

So the question is, is there anywhere in the rules that forbid adding bonus discs for one film?
And if not, then I guess one could add the bonus disc for any single film release.

In my opinion the title "Hellboy: Disc 1" for a child profile is wrong. Whats on the cover?

.
Hellboy

I don't understand why, when addressing Child Profiles Disc 1,  Disc 2 etc, you would add Original Title. The Title of the film is Hellboy.

Per rules: "In cases where the title is the original title, leave the Original Title field blank."

Actually looking at the disc level profile there is no Title. At the top it just says Disc 1 and a large picture of Hellboy. That's pretty much it.

If one was a stickler to the rules, one could say the title should just be 'Disc 1'.

See if this works.
Hellboy: Disc 1: Director's Cut

Right now when one adds a profile via the UPC# method there is no way to know that you already have the UPC is your local database until you click on the "Add to" button do you get an Error Pop-up stating that "Insert Title Name" is already part of your "whatever".

Seems clear the program already knows that the UPC# is in your local database.

So I would like to have it known to the user that a UPC# is in ones local database without having to click on the Add button.

Perhaps have a new window section below the title come up stating that it's in your local database and where. Or have the same icon that appears in the Add by Title Window for the Status come up to the Left of the Title.
So if it's in ones Owned section a little 'House' Icon would be seen right by the title  below the UPC# entry.

(In other words carry over the Status Icons over to the UPC# Entry Window)

Hope that makes sense.

How many would be in favor of increasing the photos on that site to 11?
The additional screencap would be of the Movie Title.

For example.

DVDs are standard definition and have a video output size of 4:3.
Blu-rays are high definition and have a video output size of 16:9.
If the original film or TV source does not fit into those aspects, black bars will be added to the top or sides to fill those output ratios.

Films with a wider aspect than 16:9 will add black bars to the top and bottom of the image. Sometimes the black bars will be on the film source transfer; other times the black bars will be generated by the player.

Shows with an aspect width less than 16:9 will need black bars on the left and right of the image to fill out the 16:9 area of the screen. Some consumers prefer to set their players or TV to stretch those out of aspect in order to fill the screen completely and reduce the chances of monitor burn-in of the side bars, but the image will look horizontally stretched fat.

DVDs can also employ an anamorphic source transfer with a stretched picture to achieve higher resoution, which will be corrected to the correct aspect by the DVD player.

There are many more articles available regarding all this.

I know all of that already, I was talking about the screen caps found of that site.

Fairly sure I saw some screen caps on there that was for films with an aspect ratio wider that 16:9 (1.78).

For example, Catch Me If You Can, the dvd and the blu-ray both list a 1.85 aspect ratio,
But the screen caps from that site has no black bars. Even a 1.85 aspect ration film would have small black bars, right??

Same with Dead Poets Society.

Just a general question about the website http://www.moviesgallery.eu/index.php?

When a user downloads all the photos in an album via the Zip File option does it count as a 'Hit' on each photo in that album or not?

Also, why is it that some screen-caps have black borders and some don't?

Stormy Daniels (1979) is in the online database attached to profile for UPC#713079-295337.

From what I can determine there is only one Stormy Daniels in the database.

IMDB only lists one.

IAFD

While IAFD does list another.
http://www.iafd.com/person.rme/perfid=stormydaniels_m/gender=m/stormy-daniels.htm
None of that actors films are in the database.

Now, unless there is a profile I missed, from what I can determine her birth year is not needed at this time.

Let's say that I flag all War films and I want to compare my local profiles to the online databases to see if anything needs to be accepted or if I need to contribute an update.

If I flag them and go to Refresh a box comes up saying "You are about to refresh 50 DVDs"
With an empty checkbox "To Proceed, check here and select OK" waiting for me to act.

But that doesn't allow me to check the differences between my local and the online profile.

The only way I know is to go profile by profile is clicking on the Online toolbar entry, Refresh DVD from Invelos, Preview Changes.

But this is a slow process, would be great if one could have a next button to go to the next profile to compare the differences.

Does anyone know of a method to do that?

What's the rating on the cover?

Asking because online states that it was first released with an X Rating and later it was released with an R Rating.

For a manually created box-set:
I assume it needs to be set to "none" with a value of "1"
as well the disc added to box-set ...
(is discs required to mirror what is in the box set or empty ok?)

For a manual profile you can do anything that you want.
In your case, I'd say that the main Parent Box-Set profile would be set at '0'.
For each movie contained in that box-set, I'd set it at '1' for each movie.
Now if a disc has multiple movies on it then you can either create one profile and have all the movies contained on that one disc entered or you can create a profile for each movie contained on that disc.
Either way, I'd still set the movie profiles set to '1'.

I ask because some of the created box-sets have discs added,
and some don't. not sure what i was thinking at the time,
but if i remove the discs and still type the items in the box-set, is my collection numbers still intact???
better safe to ask then be sorry, since we don't have an "undo" button yet...

When you talk about created box-sets, are you talking about ones that you downloaded from the main database or ones that you created manually. If it's ones that you downloaded, some will and some won't have child profiles available. Depends if someone contributed them yet or not.

As far as your last question, I don't know since I don't use collection numbers, so have no idea if they'd remain intact.

I've redone the Planet of the Apes films.

The sequels were badly cropped.
The 1968 was out of order.

Tried to duplicate the existing screencaps as closely as possible.

Battle for the Planet of the Apes
Beneath the Planet of the Apes
Conquest of the Planet of the Apes
Escape From the Planet of the Apes
Planet of the Apes 1968

Yeah, the only thing that I believe we are supposed to duplicate exactly is Overviews, even if they contain errors.

But if the cover is wrong about the running time, the year, studios then we can correct it to match the film/tv show on the disc(s).

Possibly he hasn't posted in so long and it only shows recent posts?

Possible, I guess.

But is it normal for some of the statistics to be absent from his User Profile?
I look at mine and it has Member Since and Last Forum Visit dates.

On Ken Coles User Profile those are absent.
Fairly sure that at least the Last Forum Visit date was visible last time I checked.
