Anyone else have issues with getting cracked DVD discs (cracked around the center hub hole)? I am always gentle and take great care of my DVDs, but it seems I'm having more trouble with it due to cheaper manufacturing and poor cases that hold the discs too tight. The worst company was Shriek Show/Tokyo Blast/Media Blasters. I had serious issues of their discs coming cracked brand new out of the case.

I spend a lot of work updating invelos but I just had 3 updates declined and I have no idea why, one with even yes votes. I removed the cast and crew from the double feature releases of Last of the Hard Men / Sky Riders and Fighting Mad/Moving Violations, put them on the child profiles for each film utilizing disc IDs/Alternate Disc IDs. DECLINED, even though one of them had a yes vote.

I've spent months updating old double feature releases with the disc ID/Alternate Disc IDs with no problem and suddenly now I got 3 declined the same day. Too much time wasted when I could have been watching films instead of updating a database.

Someone submitted an updated to change the title of "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" to "John Wick: Chapter 3: Parabellum (A second colon in place of the dash). I've noticed many other releases already in the database use the 2 colon approach however the title in the credits on the back of the box artwork reads "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" with a dash and all major film websites use the dash in place of the second colon.

I also hold a masters degree in History and in my education for referencing resources we were always instructed to list titles of papers and books with the "colon then dash" approach. Does Invelos have a rule that a second colon must be used that I am unaware of? Thanks!

There are numerous releases for films (official and unofficial entries) in the Ip Man martial arts series, however they are a mess when it comes to capitalization in the title. Is it "IP" with both capitalized or is it "Ip" with just the "I" capitalized? It's 50/50 whether the titles are or aren't for the ones already in the database. Trying to make them uniform for all releases

I basically take the approach "it is what it is".

Will I be better off knowing which of my old Warner discs are corrupt? They'll most likely be oop so I can't re-buy them anyway. If and when I pull out an old DVD to rewatch and find it to be corrupt, then I may start looking for a newer replacement, preferably on blu-ray.

This is totally going to be my approach. I panicked at first, but I can't live that way. I've been collecting DVDs and Blus since 2000 so naturally some are going to bite the dust. If I run into one that no longer works, I will just find a cheap newer DVD edition to replace it or a blu-ray

Found out through that Home Theater Forum that the Superman Christopher Reeve Collection box set I have is one of the sets that's affected. I prepared myself for the worst and sure enough, 4 discs in the set will not load and 3 will load but will pixilate and freeze during the movie. Some of the discs are even starting to show signs of rot. I instantly ordered a cheap quadruple feature off of amazon to replace the films but this has me majorly bummed. It was a beautiful set. Makes me fear other discs in my collection are suffering from the same fate

I was horrified yesterday when I took out my Film Noir Classic Collection Vol. 4 collection from Warner Brothers only to learn that 2 of the discs no longer work and only one film on another disc works. Tried it on four separate players (DVD & Blu-ray) with same results. No physical sign of disc rot and the discs look brand new so I can only assume it's some type of degradation as the discs worked perfectly when I first bought the set. I looked it up on amazon and 55% percent of the reviews stated the same thing, that the set over time was rendered unplayable despite no signs of rot. Apparently this set is notorious for it, including many other Warner Bros. releases in released between 2006-2007. Anyone here have similar issues?

A contributor submitted a pre-release for a DVD and then mistakenly had a follow-up contribution approved that stated  "The UPC initially supplied does not match this profile. The correct profile (ends in 989) is already in the database" and thus it was removed from the database.

This is NOT true. The profile that ended in 989 is the Blu-ray version. The version I submitted (UPC # 738329244972) is the DVD version which is currently not in the database because it got removed due to the mistake from the previous contributor. The cover scan of the back cover I provided proves the UPC yet my contribution got declined.

It's a lot of work to add films into the database but when my contributions get declined because of a previous contributors mistake makes me weary of taking time out of my day to do so. I resubmitted it explaining the previous contributors error but if it gets declined again, I will be done submitting

Hi All,

Been 3 years since I've logged in due to a busy life (moving, change in jobs, starting a family, buying a house, etc). Seems kind of empty. Sad to see Katatonia doesn't  submit anything anymore. Updated my collection and there is like 50 releases I have not in the database yet  Got a lot of work ahead of me

I think DVD profiler is a dying program.

As long as it works offline I don't see the problem as I do all my profiles from scratch since everything is done the way I want it too be done. I have only use the database for the scans when one is better than mine (which won't happen any day soon since Katatonia doesn't contribute anymore).

Dead or not, I haven't find anything better for my collection...

What happened to Katatonia? I haven't logged in for 3 years or so because of a new job, moving, starting a family etc but I'm saddened Katatonia no longer contributes
