So, I uploaded disc information for a few TV series. They got a no vote. This is obvious a national crisis. I've already contacted my congressperson, who's introducing a bill tomorrow.

Seriously, I just want some clarification. I'm using the TV series rules.

Example 1: Battlestar Galactica 025192050237  This package is actually a box set of of the season sets (each with their own EAN/UPC), so it falls under the note at the very bottom of the page:  "Note: In cases where multiple complete TV seasons/series (each with distinct UPC/EAN) are packaged together, the Box-set rules are applied, treating each season/series like a single film - applying the above rules for its individual profile."

I get this. Very straight forward.

Example 2: Star Trek Enterprise 032429264343 and The Twilight Zone 032429261014  These packages contain only the discs from the season sets. There's no individual EAN/UPC included with these sets. Just 24 discs in a large keep case.  (The discs are titled Season 1, Disc 1, etc. but aren't packaged in individual sets like BSG is.)

What to do here?

The character map is going to work best for me. I've got ugly, obnoxious American keyboards.

Thanks for the help, everyone.

Thank you, person that is smarter than I am at Windows.

OK People that are smarter than me about Profiler:

How do I enter "special" characters in the Cast/Crew list.  For example, instead of "Andre", I want to add "André"

(Only way I can figure to do is to find "André", select/copy the "é", and use it where I need it.)

Hey Sevens:

Thought just occurred to me.  Going FROM Parent TO Child should be failry straight forward.  You can copy the parent profile, paste only the DiscIDs to the child, and then going into the child and remove the extra pasted ones.

And I just read the contribution rules. For Box Sets, you don't include the DiscID in the main profile.  You do for TV sets, though.

So, I did "Prime Suspect", a TV show. That gets uploaded.

My box set of Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz/World's End does not. (Doesn't mean I can't keep it local.)

I'll try to hit you up with an error later this week. I'll make sure to include the steps I took to create it.

Oh, sweet!  A little trial and error, and then that worked like a champ.  Well, at least setting the parent DiscIDs from the child DiscID.

Flagged all the profiles, went into the sheet, and just copied and pasted.  (I ran into a couple of access violations, but I'm assuming that's because the current plug-in is for 3.9+ and not 4.0)

Thanks for the tip and plug-in mediadogg

Greetings:

(Are we still allowed to dream on here?)

I'd like to be able to import Parent DiscIDs from Child DiscIDs. (Or at least import DiscIDs by another method than just using a drive.)

I've noticed weird quirks with adding by disc ID, too. When I've had this problem, I've been able to resolve it by doing the following:

1) Close Profiler.
2) Make sure the DVD/BD is recognized in your "My Computer" screen.
3) Open Profiler again. Try to add by Disc ID.

It seems as if the CD-ROM needs to be "primed" in DVDProfiler. It's kind of odd.  I have this problem on my WIN10 with DVD and WIN7 with BD.

Greetings:

Is there a way to add disc IDs without using the CD-Rom?

Here's the setup:

Laptop 1 does not have a blu-ray ROM in it, and has the main Profiler Database on it.
Laptop 2 does have a blu-ray ROM in it.

If I want to add child profiles (for say, a TV show), it's easy enough to create a profile of each disc on Laptop 2, do the "Create Profile file ..." thing, and them import them into the database on Laptop 1.

But, I haven't found a way to edit the parent Profile and add the disc IDs. I was hoping to do a copy and paste thing, but no dice.  (I have a work around that doesn't involve a lot of work, but it's still worth asking the question.)
