I would not expand the crew section except for a few roles which are often credited in the opening credits (e.g. costume designer or casting). But I would definitely define the functions of the crew roles as good as possible. Then no matter how a crew member is credited in a foreign language or culture movie, he would be listed in our database with the proper function as long as he actually did that job. Therefore a director would be listed as director no matter whether he is credited with "directed by", "un film de", or "Regie". Also the English "dubbing mixer" would be listed as sound mixer, if that was the job he made.

I agree, if any more positions are to added they should be in a major creative or management function.
I'd even add stunt coordinator as example. If you don't it would get out of had.

Remember if have a field in the profiler it should defined and some authority as to validate it.
Esle you get the ping-pong biz.
We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own.

And the Open Crew List (As Credited) should prevent ping-pong possibilities, stop the endless and to my thinking usually senseless discusiions and arguments, and INCREASE my level of nightmares.

Skip,

You need to step back from the keyboard. You do the same things all the time.

Your 'Poll' uses VERY leading wording, and this makes it useless.

A good poll should be unbiased and have enough possibilities to choose from. To start a poll the 1st thing you need to think about is on what u really want an opinion, from the users.

Make a clear, for all understandable question and make sure the options users have, really answer the question stated.

If to many users are clueless in regard of what the poll is about, then either the question of the poll is badly choosen or the possiblities which users can choose from are to few or not clear enough in regard to the question.

A poll should never be a way of getting a personal opinion confirmed by users clicking on the best possible answer they see. Which is what they actually do if a poll is set up incorrectly.

A poll like this and the results comming from such a poll has no value imo.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: 'WOW What a Ride!!!
