I also got a few PMs by Vista users who were confused with the initial report. Since I don't have Vista, I don't have an idea what the reason could be. I will keep an eye on this, and try to be as specific as possible. Unfortunately this is not something that can easily be set up to experiment with.

The error must likely occured in one of the following profiles:
8711875977183.30 Aladdin
Any idea of what the problem could be?
(My collection is made of 2500 DVDs)
It worked fine on another collection of 60 DVDs (Is it connected to the size of the collection?)

Thanks for any help you can provide me with Most likely the reason is some kind of oddity in the XML generated by DVD Profiler. The number of profiles is not an issue; it just may take a while for large collections. Within DVD Profiler, export your collection to XML. Let NameVariants process the exported XML file rather than the Live Database. This will hopefully give you a more exact pointer to the location of the error. If you are unable to solve the problem, I can give you an email address via PM so you can send me the zipped (!) XML file for further research. | | | | Matthias |

MSXML 4.0 This indicates that no valid XML is available, which shouldn't happen even with an empty database. Assuming that the error occurs in the first step (loading database), I would simply suggest to try again after restarting DVD Profiler and Name Variants. If this doesn't help, use DVD Profiler's XML export function and then let Name Variants process the XML file instead of the live database. | | | | Matthias |
