With these we have: There are requested many of languajes principally spoken in europe: Vasque, catalan, galicia, valencian, flemish, estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Serbian, Thai, Swiss German, Rumantsch, slovak... 13 for audio, and 13 for subtitles. And I not sure, but it will be probable material in Esperanto and with these they will be to now 14.

When all these most needed languages has been added, it might also be good idea to have several "other" choices. Currently there is only one "other" option. If you have a DVD with several unlisted languages, all those languages fall under this one "other" option.

I was wondering if it would be possible to have several "other" options. You can then yourself name these un-named other languages. Something like in the picture below:

I do not yet know how that should be handled with audio tracks where the language is selected from a drop down list.

How about that you could type a language in the Audio Track Content Field, just like with the aspect ratio?

I like the idea put forth bu jykke. Otherwise at some point I would simply say at some point OTHER just has to be enough, I mean REALLY; Esperanto? That language survives? I thought that UN bred hybrid of English and Spanish died long ago.

Persian is same as farsi which is already available.

Klingon might be a good option. I have one DVD with Klingon subtitles: Star Wreck: In The Pirkinning: Imperial Edition.

I am not very sure of these. Could be similar of pashtu, that it is a language of persian family.

In that case, it could be put in the program like Persian/Farsi or Farsi/Persian for not created confusions, if they are the same languaje and not diferent.

Please drop that Esperanto from your list finally. It's an artificial language spoken nowhere.

You had all the trouble to find movies with Pashtu (Pushto) and Bambara from IMDb. Why don't you look for Esperanto movies too. I know there are some (16 to be exact) listed in IMDb, but like normally, I wouldn't trust the information there. Eg. Cattaca is listed with Esperanto language. Maybe there is some words spoken in Esperanto in that movie, I can't remember, but I'm 99% sure there is not Esperanto audio track or subtitle track available in any release.

Other languages you have listed are OK. However, you have mispelled Basque as Vasque.

With ISO system will no be problem to us have all posibles languajes. I can accept will be few films in some of that languages, but in my collection, others can be present 5% or more audio of my collection, and I have some films with 3 diferent other languajes. My dvd collection have many alternative cinema titles.

And in reports, if I read Other, I can know what language is. If it appear other, can be 10 diferent languajes. Other is a temporal solution betwen program integrated requested language, It can be use for not integrated languajes.

And in subs, others are only one listed, and will be 3 languajes subs or more like only one.

I put titles for be a example of films that they need these feature. It will be more filma with these languages. Tag is not a solution, I go to wacht that information in audios, not in tags.

I need also mongolian. I will buy soom:
http://imdb.com/title/tt0373861/ Very interesting film.
http://imdb.com/title/tt0432325/

And I will buy soom: http://imdb.com/title/tt0210727/ For these I need Tibetan. A great film to kwon about diferent cultures.

With these we have: There are requested many of languajes principally spoken in europe: Vasque, catalan, galicia, valencian, flemish, estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Serbian, Thai, Swiss German, Rumantsch, slovak, pashtu, Bambara, Tibetan, Mongolian... 17 for audio, and 17 for subtitles.

Don't know who you have addressed, but I like to see foreign films in their original language with my mother language as subtitles. Therefore I'm very much interested into correct and complete audio and subtitles listings. Much more than I'm interested into complete cast and crew listings. It's DVD profiler and not movie profiler after all.

Matter of fact, I know a lot of people who do and if you count "improving my english" as learning than I'm doing it too. Of course that's an almost revolutionary thought for some ( ) but it is actually happening.

Not just learn, but also to maintain.  In my household we speak mainly Afrikaans & English, but have many friends in Europe, so we:

  • also try to maintain a some vocabulary in French (although we don't speak it);

  • try to keep up with the main differences between Dutch & Afrikaans (which can sometimes be tricky - similar to the mistakes that can happen with Spanish false cognates);

  • my partner speaks German quite well and I can follow it but not really speak more than the basic niceties;

  • I'm taking Spanish at university (and Portuguese is in my curriculum as well, although I'm leaving that for a bit later);

  • and lastly we have 9 other official languages of which I know basic greetings only in some (IsiNdebele, , IsiZulu, SePedi, SiSwati, Tshivenda & Xitsonga ), but a few more words in those more common around my city (SeSotho, SeTswana & IsiXhosa).  (There's also a number of non-official languages. of which Sign Language is standing a good chance of also being upgraded to official status, as well as heritage European languages with a special status.)

  • For that reason I source many DVDs specifically on the language content, trying to get discs with at least English, Spanish & German on it.  Except for Amazon.com specials where I let my compulsive internet shopaholism go rampant without caring to much about the soundtracks...

    The wealth of material available on DVD have made multi-lingualism much easier. As does subtitles

    In my case, I am a bilingual (spanish and vasque) that is trying to be a trilingual. And in my student times, I study latin.

    I am a cinema club 35mm proyectionist also, is not my work, is my hobby. I like cinema in original version with subtitles.

    Yes, I used dvd-s to improbe my English, and my mother used dvd-s to improve her vasque, when I am waching thing with him, I tried to selected vasque audio dvd-s, one of many others are listed becaude I have a lot of alternative films that aren't USA's.

    Is more dvd-s that only USA's comercial titles, some people has time to know that.
