| Posted: | | | | New 200 DPI scans with better detail and color. Look for example at Ludo on the back and the lady with the mask on the front. You see their eyes, etc, better. But IMO overall, my scans have more detail. Evaluate this contribution *Updated Notes* Disheartening to get bad votes, but I can understand, however it's my multi function printer (Canon MX850), which produces these images. I wish I knew how to improve my scans! I tried a lot of things. I'm withdrawing this contribution... Pls feel free to write me a PM if you know how to get better scans from the scanner I use! | | | Last edited: by MikaLove |

| Posted: | | | | This is merely a test, people. I scanned the covers in 800 DPI. I still, however, get very bright images. I can try to reduce the brightness, but I fear that the image quality and colors will suffer, when I do that. Pls bear with me as I'm trying to improve and find a way to start contributing only high class scans. Evaluate this contribution |

| Posted: | | | | 2nd attempt at my 800 DPI cover scans. This time I reduced brightness in the settings quite a lot. But still, I am myself a little hesitant about the blacks and the color accuracy. Detail is a bit improved in my scans, however. But is it enough? It looks like I need to continue elaborating... Evaluate this contribution *Updated Notes* I came to the conclusion that I will go with these scans. Maybe you don't like them. But the fact is that both versions aren't really accurate. The original has more red/brown color mix. I didn't manage to reproduce this. Make your choice. But like I said I will stick to my scans, for my own DB. | | | Last edited: by MikaLove |

| Posted: | | | | All right folks. I am re-contributing my scans now - after all the input you gave me in the forum. These are my 800 DPI scans. To me, they look very close to the original - without having done anything to the images, really, except used ideal settings when scanning. Some details on my back cover scan suffers a little from not so strong printed text. The effect I get when converting the BMP image to JPG, despite sharpening... Evaluate this contribution |

| Posted: | | | | OK. Sorry, people, for continuous contributions, but I am trying to master this fully. That is, becoming a master at scanning covers. This is my last touch. I set the black and white levels for the back cover, so now it looks a lot better in terms of contrast. I hope you will be satisfied! If you wish to see the changes in progression, see the topic I made in the forum. I posted the covers. I'm guessing that with time, I will become even better at this, without so many retries and with a good immediate result. For example, I actually notice that my back cover could still benefit from a better contrast, regarding the white text... I'm guessing I should simply have set the white and black levels on the earliest stage. But by then I didn't know how to. If you want to, I could scan the back all over again. Just say the word. Evaluate this contribution *Updated Notes* I found out a way to set black and white levels for only the overview. I didn't re-contribute the result however, in order not to be a total pain in the butt. However, you have the option to choose between my results here: http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=451963&PageNum=2&messageID=1255507#M1255507 I'm not sure which one you prefer? The result looks a little over the top. A little too bold, that is. Sorry again - but your help and patience will pay off in the end.
