1. If a person is sometimes credited with a nickname in the middle of their name in quotes, the common name does not include it (example Robert Zajonc not Robert 'Bobby Z' Zajonc)

Will there be exceptions to this rule?  I understand what you are saying here but it just so happens that the guy who's name you used is better known with the nickname included.

Bet on it, Unicus.

At first I thought it would be good to just have everyone edit their post to add new names; however, someone made a good point that since I'm getting new post notifications, it might be easier just to use those to alert me to edit the thread.

With the emailed notifications, I don't have to re-scan everyone's posts looking for changes. So it makes sense to me now to just have everyone add a new post each time they add a common name. That will alert me to update the master list at the top of the thread.

So if I want to bug you while you're at work I could just post something in this thread?

Here's one I have not figured out yet and perhaps someone with him in more than the 2 episodes of Star Trek:TOS can help.

He is credited as Blaisdel Makee in episode 3 and as Blaisdell Makee in episode 22.

IMBD lists him as Makee K. Blaisdell with the following AKAs:
Makee Blaisdell / Blaisdell MaKee / Blaizdel MaKee / Blaisdell Makee / Blaisdel Makee / Blaizdell Makee / Blaizdel Makee / Blaisdel McKee / Blaizdel McKee

For my own db, I'm going with the Blaisdell Makee, but for the online, I have no idea. His work seems to be primarily TV in the 60's. Opinions anyone?

That is a tricky one.
A quick search around has him mostly as Blaisdell Makee, so in the absence of anything clearer I would just go for that for the database. Seems as good as any.

I found this geneology forum website which seems to contain some family history for him:

I am seeing a lot of "this name = these names" but I have a question.  Please forgive me if this was already covered somewhere but, are we just taking people's word on these?  I haven't seen any documentation to show that they are correct but maybe I am missing something.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

This list just tells you what names have been justified by others in a contribution. You still have to document it if you submit it in a contribution on your own. This just serves as a reference so that we can coordinate our choices. You are also free to choose a different name if you disagree.
