They may get some in there once American Gangster, Beowulf, and maybe Bee Movie get released.  Hard to get any movies in the Top 10 when you hardly have any studio support..

Interesting to note that the crud (Saw 4, The Game Plan, Good Luck Chuck) tends to be at the top of the top 10 and the good stuff like Superbad and Ratatouille are at the bottom.

The Game Plan is actually quite good.

Also, the "crud" as you call it should be at the top, they're the new releases.

Is it a good idea now that Warner have expressed there full support to blu-ray to go out and buy a player? I say this because I'm hearing bad things about having to download firmware and updates for each dvd you buy. Also if it is a good idea, do any of you recommend a certain player to get? I'm a bit bamboozaled with the whole thing.

I'm waiting for the profile 2.0 players to come out (profile 1.1 gives you the PIP feature, profile 2.0 gives you internet connectivity for downloadable extras), but if you have HDMI capabilities then you're OK with the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player---it's probably better than most of the standalones.  If you're dependent on optical or coax for audio, or component for video, then the PS3 isn't the optimal solution, and the standalones aren't yet up to snuff for the various profiles other than 1.0 without costing an arm and a leg.  There should be reasonably priced 2.0 players by summer.

Superbad was a surprisingly good film. I would of thought it be in the top ten.

Then you're getting a downmix, and not lossless sound.

Doesn't have to be lossless. You're not getting any high definition sound through optical/coaxical. That means neither Dolby Digital Plus nor DTS HD can be transported directly over a toslink or s/pdif connection.

Please show me where that was implied? It wasn't. Thank you.

True HD is only via HDMI, but I understand optical is still o.k. for 5.1 (DTS or DD)...?

My SONY Blu player plays DTS and DD 5.1 indeed over optical.

Well, I guess you've found your optimal solution then. Congrats!
BTW, you're welcome.
