It is very handy for the single headshot corrections to include the correct version on this page so we can just slot the correct one in.  Please continue to do so.

Also, after installing v4, I ended up with birth years for Charlton Heston and Robert Taylor that I don't believe I had before, so you might want to check whether they crept in somehow.

Robert Taylor's BY  is valid and documented in the proper thread.

There is a bizarre problem with Robin Williams. He appears with birthyears 1951 and 1952 with two different headshots of the guy who played Mork, and then with a birthyear of 1947 with, instead of a headshot, the words "NOT THE COMEDIAN". This appears in What Dreams May Come, the star of which is indeed the guy who played Mork, so is this some idiot's opinion about his comedic abilities?

I did some research on Robin Williams when I saw those BY's when I was removing the invalid ones.  It seems there is no firm BY for him - there are conflicting sources between official biographies/documentation.

Can't say I really care whether he was born in 1951 or 1952. It is the presence of more than one entry which is the problem. I favor using the birth year only when necessary, and if someone finds it's a year off according to some other source, leave well enough alone. Putting "not the comedian" instead of a headshot, though, is simply demented.

Nothing demented about it.

I added that image because there's no way to remove a headshot from a database when it already exists in other people's database, the only course of action is to replace it with another image.  In this case, the Robin Williams in question was not the comedian Robin Williams (Mork & Mindy, Mrs. Doubtfire) and I was unable to locate the correct headshot.

I did the same thing for any adult image I found - I replaced it with the Invelo's yellow shield image.

It also serves to help me keep the bad image from working its way back into the master database.

So for what DVD did you add this non-comedian Robin Williams? Was this Robin Williams of yours born in 1947? Again, I found this entry in What Dreams May Come, which definitely did star the former Mork, star of Good Morning Vietnam, Patch Adams etc. Am I assuming correctly that you contributed the profile for another DVD and then someone else attached it somehow to What Dreams May Come without noticing that it didn't belong there?

I can't speak for Dr. Killpatient or the validity of the 1947 birth year on the other Robin Williams, though it does seem for a quick search that there is another.

However, if you had a Robin williams in your database that did not have a birth year, and imported the Headshot database that had a 1947 Robin Williams, I believe from what I remember others saying, that your entry with no birth year will be given the earliest Birth Year for Robin Williams. If your What Dreams May Come entry had the Robin Williams with the correct birth year when you did the import it would have left it as is.

I didn't contribute any profiles to put that BY in it.  It came from a headshot database that someone sent in to add to the master DB.

For those struggling with birth years, if you haven't tried my plug-in, Database Query, you should check it out.  One of things it will do is list every cast / crew person in your database that has a birth year assigned.  I used this the other day and compared against the thread with the list of accepted birth years.  It only took me about 15-20 minutes to clean out about 100 unnecessary birth years from my database.

I'm no longer scared to update my headshots with v4.

Thanks for the Database tool, it is very interesting.

I do however have an issue with getting a birthyear report. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. But I only get a list of actors that are also attached to a profile. If an actor is only in the cast/crew database it is not listed in the query result.

When I first ran the query, I had 80 birthyears in the Actors DB. I then added 2 actors with BY of which I do not have any movie to 1 profile, and the result was 82.

You're not doing anything wrong.  You are correct that it only finds birth years for people attached to profiles.  There's currently no way for a plug-in to access the cast/crew database.  The best I could do was read those connected to profiles.  Hopefully Ken will provide the proper access in the future.  Still, cleaning up those that I'll actually be getting profile updates for is good enough for now.

Hello,

This and a some other errors were already reported earlier. I made a small file to correct them.

You can download it here.

The description of what it all fixes can be found in my post on page 2 of this topic.
