I repeat dogg, I did not launch an unprvoked attack at Varrus, he chose to do that, I attempted to help him, what you did or did not do is irrelevant. He did not attack YOU, now if you want to call him on his childish and distinctly unsociable, SNERT-like behavior, fine. But leave me out of it, I found his attack unprovoked and totally insulting, however typical of the age group which seems to be represented DVDSpot refugees. Thank you.

For God's sake Skip - well done for completely derailing a very useful thread for DVDSpot newcomers!
You've obviously got no idea about what's being discussed, so why don't you let Varrus and Dogg just get on with it?

The why did you post here, north. What don't you understand. I tried to offer the user some assistance, i don't care where he comes from. My reward was an unprovoked assault from the user. I am sorry his parents never taught him any manners, not yours you, north. But an unprovoked attack will not goi unchallenged.

I just looked for the recodr, north and was not surprised to learn that since Varrus asked his question, you have not provided any attempt to help him nor anor any comment...until you decided it was time to attack me. Very typical of your SOP, sadly, and lame.

Skip: Sorry, I don't tolerate forum trolls and that was the impression I got from your post so I sincerely apologise if that was not your intention. Truce? (Oh, and my snipe at antares? No worries, it's just a friendly jab with a bit of insider humour).

Mediadogg:
By jove, I think I may have discovered what was causing the error as I was just able to duplicate it twice. I've used a fresh export file from DVDSpot to load into the Profiler app and I now have 351 owned, 4 ordered, and 230 wishlist. I should have 352 owned but I know which one is missing; it's one of my two that have no UPC (just a string of zeroes). Correct me if I'm wrong here but I think it's overwriting each no-UPC entry with the next one in the .csv file? At any rate, I have only one of these in my database when I should have two. When it comes time to do the Purchase Place update via BulkEdit, it chokes when it gets to the second (missing) no-UPC database entry. Does that make any sense?

I really do appreciate your patience with my thickheadedness in all this, dogg. I don't think I'd be here at all without the existence of your plugin and your willingness to help all us chuckleheads get through this painful transition period.

Varrus you have purchased the best program that there is for DVD management, it looks like you did it with a chip on your shoulder based on your comment to Antares.

I have been running Profiler with DVDSpot simultaneously for over three years now, and have been Profiler's biggest proponent over at the Spot forums. I've known Varrus for that same amount of time, so Varrus' reply was tongue in cheek.

Now that DVDSpot is shutting down, I too am a refugee from their forum and I find this statement insulting, to say the least.

Oh, and for the record, I'll be turning 48 in a couple of weeks.

Well now, there's your problem.  The age group Skip is refering to is the under 50 crowd.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

So far the only files you sent me worked fine. If you have one that produces errors, please send it. As far as the situation you describe, we hit this earlier. A string of zeros is not "no UPC", it a a UPC consisting of a string of zeros. And yes, duplicate UPCs in the imported stream will overwrite each other - see the exchange that I had with CalebandCo. There should be no duplicate UPCs in the datastream. If in fact the UPC is missing (null or blank), BulkEdit creates one for you that is unique within the database being used.
Thanks for your support.

Whoops, I missed that post. Guess I didn't skim carefully enough. Okay, I'll edit the zeroes to blanks and give it another run. This should avoid the error; I'll be sure to let you know. Thanks, dogg!

I now have all my dvds from DVD Spot on here, save for 1 or 2 and a few others(Including some of my adult titles) that weren't even on there!  I will hopefully be buying a license soon so I can also upload my collection online!
