On second/thrid thought, you've made it past CSV parsing by then. That can't be it. If you get as  far as succesfully parsed, the data structure must have been OK. Did you look at the log? Any error messages there?

Hmm, no, I don't recall seeing any errors in the log.
So far, I've done the subset, and about 40% along on the master file.

I'll let you know if something pops up, but a couple of things:

- I cut and pasted directly from a copy of the log that I saved into Notepad to avoid typos
- I noticed that there were 8 sources in the test file and 21 sources in the big file. I assume you added the extra ones before running the master file
- There were multiple Amazons (.com and .ca) and three different sources that begin with "DeepDiscount". I wonder if you caught them all.

The bug I did find is that for some reason the validation runs twice. I need to suppress the second run, but after they were done, the Retailers had been successfully added.

And ... of course you are using 1.04, right?
Thanks for your support.

1. I have 22 sources input into the Retailers list.

2. As for the two Amazons and three DeepDiscounts, those are correct. My Retailers list shows them as:
- Amazon.ca
- Amazon.com
- DeepDiscount.com
- DeepDiscountDVD.ca
- DeepDiscountDVD.com
(the latter two no longer exist but I bought DVDs from both before they merged into the single current site)

3. Yup, 1.04.

The retailer's list is just like most of the Program is edited by users. You are a user, get to editing. All you have to is add them.

Then I can't explain it. I don't doubt that you got an error, but there may be a subtle difference in procedures that prevents me from getting it.

Have you tried more than once - I assume so. Maybe this is it: each database has its own set of retailers. Bulkedit's "My Purchase Places" persists across sessions and databases, so what you see in there is not necessarily what is in the Profiler database. Is it possible that you changed databases somewhere along the line, and lost the Retailers you entered into Profiler?

Skip, if you're not going to post anything productive then I would ask you to refrain from posting at all. Thank you.

Anyway, yeah I tried three or four times (with different truncated .csv files just for poops and giggles) and I got the same error every time. Curiously enough, I just tried again after reading your post with the same truncated .csv file that I emailed you and it went through cleanly this time. No errors at all. Oh god, I hope I didn't just waste your time.

Edit: I just ponied up the cash for the full version of the software so I'm going to give the BulkEdit plugin a go with my full .csv export file from DVDSpot. I'll let you know how it goes.

What kinda numbers did you get? Mine aren't matching correctly.
For example: Profiler's got 259 owned; DVDSpot's got 352.
Plus, it looks like all the A's through D's are missing.
I dunno, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Or I'm just an idiot. One of the two.

I got: 519 total: 259 Owned + 25 Ordered + 235 WishList (that's where all the A-Ds are by the way).

See a few posts back for the rules I used to assign profiles to the collections. They obviously don't match the way you used DVDSpot.

It takes all of 30 seconds to rectify. Just flag the set you want to move and Collection\Flagged|Move To ...

Done.

Whoa. Hang on a minute. I just took another look at the .csv file and it's missing a lot of data. I wonder if I screwed up somewhere while creating my truncated file and accidentally saved over the original. D'oh!

Okay, time to try this again with a fresh export.

I attempted to assist, Varrus. I am not the one who launched the attack, please refer to the correct person if you please.n Someone needs to learn some manners.

Varrus you have purchased the best program that there is for DVD management, it looks like you did it with a chip on your shoulder based on your comment to Antares. This program does not count DVDs which is why your number is different, it's an old misnomer in the program, it counts PROFILES. Everybody wants to do things differently, some people want to count TITLES, some people want to count shiny discs, some people count boxsets as a title and not the movies, some do it the reverse. There is NO answer. But the program count is for Profiles.
