I could supply the necessary documentation.

and why would that documentation be allowed? If you can only go by the CLT? For DVD Profiler these would be 2 different names, you only have the credits to go by.

<sigh> Surely you know better than this...? Do we really have to go over this over and over again? Okay, here we go: we can use outside sources to confirm that two name variants indeed refer to the same person. After establishing that this is indeed the case, we use the most commonly credited form as the "common name", and use the "credited as" field for when he's credited with the other name variant. So while we can use external sources to document that a several name variants refer to the same person, we don't use external sources to determine which variant is the "correct" one - because we don't use "correct" common names, but we simply use the most commonly credited form.

As Tim says, giga, and Ken on numerous occasions, we are after the most COMMONLY CREDITED name, not somebody's idea of what a given "Correct" name is. Our results shpould always be based upon real data not someones imagination.

I've checked the credit blocks on various covers of "Far and Away" and "Problem Child", and they all indicate that Michael Hill is credited as "Michael Hill", so I think it's safe to assume he's also really credited that way.

Examples:

Angels & Demons: Mike Hill
Frost/Nixon: Mike Hill
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!
