I have seen similiar threads on other movies site so I thought it would be cool to post one here as well!  I just purchased the Samsung BDP-3600 Blu-Ray player on my birthday this past Wednesday and I am starting to purchase must have Blu-Rays.  So far I purchased Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Terminator 2: Judgement Day (Skynet Edition), Twister, Stargate, and Disturbia (only $10 @Wal-Mart)!!!

I am leary of doing a disc for disc upgrade to every movie I own, I prefer to go after the gems right now and watch for new rreleases only and then build up the classics over time.  So what Blu's do you own that you consider "Must Own" blu-ray discs?

i've been very impressed by the look of the Bond films, even (especially) the old ones

I also want to get a list of DVDs i have that are not, at a minimum, Anamorphic and replace those.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

I just finished Band of Brothers over the weekend.  Looked spectacular, but to be honest, the series is so good, I think I'd get just as sucked in if it was on VHS.  I also got lucky and found it over Christmas for $37.

As far as the best "visuals" (or significant upgrades over DVD) I've experienced on Blu-ray, I would highly recommend these:

Apocalypto
Beowulf
Blade Runner
The Boys from Brazil
Bridge to Terabithia
Fargo
From Hell
The Lives of Others
The Longest Day
My Bloody Valentine 3D
Poltergeist
Sunshine
Zodiac
X-Men (Trilogy)

For whatever this is worth, I cannot keep the blu-rays of Iron Man, The Dark Knight or Transformers on the shelf in my store.

Also, I think Planet Earth would be abso-frigging-lutely spectacular on blu-ray.
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

In terms of picture and audio quality, I can recommend
The Dark Knight
Earth
Baraka
Planet Earth
Kill Bill (Vol.1 + Vol.2).

The early James Bond movies seem to have benefited considerably from their brand new BR transfers.
