Hi,

I would please ask everyone to refrain from answering in spam threads. Firstly you bring unecessary attention to these threads and secondly everytime someone replies in them they get marked as "new".

Please simply use the good ol' red arrow and be done with it.

And in case you do reply, please do not quote the spam links. You surely don't want to help to "spread the word".

Thanks
Karsten

In addition to this it would be much appreciated if the mods wouldn't only remove the spam but also close the accounts. E.g. lxxsumi8 still exists as well as lxxsumi0!

It is pretty obvious that those will never become a paying customer!

Agree with all of that. And then there's SH84's idea here.

If only the red arrow would work...
Some spam posts aren't locked or deleted for many days (just look at the last page of this forum : 2 from november 2009 are there) and don't tell me they aren't reported or the moderator doesn't see them...

Thanks DJ, I never understood why people bump spam posts. By all means give them a red arrow but please don't help to keep them on the first page!!

That may be true, but I doubt that replying in them works any better.

I agree with DJ Doena. Primarily because it just amplifies the annoyance of spam, because each time someone replies it moves the thread to the top of the pile and grabs my attention yet again. And again. And again.

Red arrow and move along is a very good policy.

I'm okay with one (1) person replying and saying that they're spam.  Some people may not realize it for what it is.

(really)

I comment if the postings are long. I can't stand seeing all that spam when I first open up the program. I also let my fingers do the walking to the red arrows too!

I fully agree with the basis of this topic since the request is fairly standard on any forum. All that you do by adding to a spam topic is keeping it at the top of the forum which is particularly a problem in forums that don't have a lot of new-topic traffic. Even if moderators don't remove the spam, the least that members can do is allow it to fall away instead of continuously bumping it.

With that said... this topic has received a lot of posts causing it to stay at the top of the forum as a result.

Therefore, DJ must be a spammer!

Yes. Please let those threads die in silence, with a red arrow burrowed deep in their heart...
