I'm more in favor for solutions which give the user less work and not more work..

I'm also for the least work possible, as long as it gives correct results. Less work to obtain wrong results, it would be better to do nothing.... Unfortunately, as in real life, lazyness rarely gives good results...

Not wrong, but especially on things like parsing it is not always easy to find the correct result. And even with a good explanation not all will agree. So I would like to see a way which can do it as they want.

To correctness of the other thing you mentioned. These "clt decided" mistakes are based on the "wrong" credits on DVDs itself and as long as it remains a DVDProfiler I can see why we use it this way.
In another thread I suggested a solution which would give users the freedom of correcting in a way which wouldn't change the DVD based credit system we have now.

Btw, if such a possibility would be given to us, I would also prefer to get the correct information based on the knowledge of other users.

No. DVD credits are correct. The way we transform them with an automatic replacement of capital letters, refusing to verify correct spelling, is not. I do not see any reason, except laziness, to do so. The "easy" way is just a way to wrong data.

Hmm, I think you often heard it: But there is a way for all-caps with accent, so this is not completely a transforming problem.
Btw, would "MUELLER" also get to "Müller" in your idea. Or would this be different because it is not completely wrong?

Edit: I would suggest to copy all credits as written without a transformation of any kind to get this discussion stopped.  (Evfen if the credit is all-caps)

How does Mister MUELLER/Müller write his own name in small letters? That is the answer I consider as correct. Not sure to personally be sure for all names in all languages, but I trust German users for German names, Spanish users for Spanish names, and Norvegian users for Norvegian names. A Google search restricted to pages in the language of the actor also gives a good presumption.

What is sure is that an automatic answer will never give correct data in all cases. To be sure, you have to WORK, not suppose the coin in a pitch and toss will give the good answer.

Of course I agree on this, but I would like give the users the possibility to do this if they want instead of forcing them.
But this is just my opinion.

The freedom for the users to add correct things without a big arguement every time.
And for users don't want to do the big work, still the possibility to be able to contribute.

----
Müller would be most times the answer how he writes himself, but not in all cases. And not like names with missing accents both variants would be correct. So with a new wording in the rules I wouldn't wonder if it gets a fight.

Edit: What I wanted to say: Correct is not always the same correct in everyone's mind and we wouldn't be able to find always the correct way. Especially on those things like parsing and names. So I prefer a solution which makes everyone happy.

You are never obliged to contribute. If you have good data to share, that's OK. If you have wrong data in your local, please keep it for yourself...

And this is what I don't understand. It would also work for you,* but it wouldn't be exactly what you want, so you don't accept it. Strange attitude. But it is your attitude, so I will accept this.

*You never brought up any reason why it wouldn't work for you.

But I can't change persons, so I won't try further.

A solution that put in the online database names that do not exist is not a good solution. Perhaps it's difficult for you to understand, but it seems so clear for me....

PS You accept my attitude and add a  . Strange way to accept other's opinion

Your problem of non-existant names is just a small part of it, but this is the only thing you have in mind and seems to be your personnel war. Even if this small part would get solved other problems would still be there.

I said I accept it. Not I like it.
