Howard is released an can be ordered at:
By your user profile I couldn't find out your location so beware if you're from the USA, because the DVD is PAL-coded and not necessarily compatible with your equipment.
In any other case: HAVE FUN
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

The OP is in the USA and we don't have an R1 version to purchase.  Apparently George Lucas refuses to release it on DVD.

Same as with StarWars Episodes IV - VI (Original releases) then, which for some reason never were released on DVD (at least in Europe)

Can't say for in Europe, but in the US they were released (the 3rd release, upc: 024543-387275)

However since Lucas now considers the Special Editions the movie, the release was stuck on disc 2 as bonus material and is not an anamorphic transfer rather its basically the 1993 (if my memory serves me) laserdisc masters transfered to dvd. though they do include the original title for Star Wars (ie, no Episode IV: A New Hope)

Unfortunately, it looks like this will never happen. According to Simon Pegg, the music rights make it impossible to release on DVD here.  I would recommend all fans to pick up the 3 disc set from the UK.
