I added 2 new profiles to the PC database. I did a new assignment of collection numbers and synched to the mobile device. The result: the mobile database is totally messed up. Wrong assignments of coverscans to the profiles, double profile numbers including a crash of the app and phone freeze.
During sync my phone got very hot and did not load although plugged to a socket. I assume this was due to extreme cpu usage of the app.

Device: Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 Android 4.1.2

Same problem here. I have around 3000 titles. Today I deleted an old disc I no longer own (from the lower hundreds) and re-assigned to collection numbers. Then I did a new sync and now it looks your database. Example: The most recent title in my collection is "Leave her to Heaven" and should be disc 3056. But what I have now is 3 number 3056s. 2 are called "Leave Her to Heaven", one of them the correct one and one showing the UPC and cover of Friday the 13th Part 2 which is actually No. 1897 in my collection. All the details of the Leave her to heaven/Friday the 13th Part 2 hybrid are a mix to data. Cast&Crew are from Friday, the studio and genre from Leave her to heaven.

And then there's the third No. 3056 which is a Laurel and Hardy disc and correctly listed as such. This one has the personal info, run time and production year from Leave her to heaven, everything else seem to be the Laurel and Hardy data. The disc would have been 1165 in my collection if labeled correctly.

These duplicated continue from No. 3056 backwards until 3048, everything below seems to be okay although the collection numbers are still the old one (i.e. 3047 is still 3048, 3046 is still 3047 etc.)

Device: Kindle Fire HD.

I would run a database repair on your database and deleted from your android and re-sync.

Database repair didn't work, I'll delete and resync this afternoon. Considering the amount of time it takes to sync the full database that's gonna be a time-consuming workaround, though.

Just exactly where is the DB on my phone, I can't find it?

Exactly what I did to solve the problem. Took me a few hours. Currently I'm sweating with every new sync...

Well, deleting and re-syncing obviously worked. But not for long.

After both PC and Android DB were all synced up I move the recent Terminator and Ghostbusters Blu-ray from the "ordered" to the "Owned" database on my PC. Did another sync, the result: Ghostbusters is where it should be but for some weird reason Kung Fu Panda 3d (Collection No 2484 out of over 3000) has disappeared from the Owned list. I found it in the ordered list with the title "Ghostbusters". I moved it back to the owned list on my Android and now it's back where it should be but still titled Ghostbusters.

Something's seriously wrong with the sync feature.

Sounds more like an isue with the database.  I would delete both the titles, run a database repair then add them back.  After that delete the database on the android and resync.  I know it may be a lot of work but it also might save you alot of time in the future if your database is messed up.

I happen to me once when one record went bad and I had to delete, repair and readd the title.

FWIW: I'm running a database repair on a regular basis. Nevertheless my db on the mobile device messed up after a sync. I think a possible solution would be a db-repair tool for the android version!

Hmmm, to be honest I wouldn't know which titles to deleted. Yesterday it was Ghostbusters and Kung Fu Panda but in my first message it was 10 completely different titles that were messed up just the same way. Plus, none of the issues occur on my PC database, that one is still 100% fine. it's only the Android database that keeps getting messed up when the db is synced after changes to the PC database.

When you had the bad record mess up your database, how did you identify it? And what exactly was the behavior of that record?

Incidentally, after I moved the Ghostbusters/Kung Fu Panda back to the owned list on my Android I did another sync with the PV database and that apparently overwrote the messed up entry so now the Android database looks fine again... until next time at least.

If your storing your database on an SD card in your device then you might consider a bad SD card.

When I had a bad record it would stop during the on-line update process and the sync'ing to my pocket PC was incorrect.

Good Luck

Might be the cause if CPreischl would be the only one, but with at least two affected installations it is rather unlikely that two SD-cards show defects that result in exactly the same error.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

He has a Kindle Fire HD. I think this device does not have an SD Card slot?

I guess the problem is that you reassigned collection numbers - it seems the new numbers won't be synced correctly.

Yup, Kindle Fire HD, so no SD card. I'm fairly certain the first issue had to do with the reassign, however on the second one all I did was move two titles from ordered to owned (on a completely new Android database). If I find the time over the weekend I'll set up a new test database on my PC with maybe 100 titles and screw around with that a little bit.
