There are many James/Jimmy/Jim (A./Arnold) Taylor out there. Today - as a third step - I try to find a common name for James "J.T." who is listed as J. T. Taylor (I) in the IMDB. He is the front man of Kool & the Gang and credited as composer, songwriter and actor. The Wikipedia lists him as born August 16th, 1953 in Laurens, SC as James Warren Taylor.

Currently the following titles are contributed to our database:

James Taylor  ( 0 confirmed / 0 unconfirmed )

J. T. Taylor  ( 0 confirmed / 1 unconfirmed / invalid 1 )
Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen
• The Mambo Kings

James "J.T." Taylor  ( 0 confirmed / 1 unconfirmed )
• Kool & the Gang - Gangthology

Can anyone confirm the credits above?
Does anyone have other titles of him in his database?

Remark: The IMDB suggests he is credited as "James Taylor" for most of his appearances. But as far as I can see, these credits are mostly for non original song writing...
Complete list of Common Names  •  A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1)

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen - James Taylor - song writer for "Ladies Night"

However, this is not a valid credit since "Ladies Night" was released in 1979 and was not original to the film.
I don't wanna be like everyone else, that's why I'm a mod, see?

Kool & the Gang - Gangthology is a 2CD & 1DVD set.
The dvd containing 11 of their video clips.

The cd credits him simply as 'Taylor', the liner notes refer to him as vocalist James 'JT' Taylor.
I have added a quick scan of the liner notes.

Hopefully this is the info you were looking for.

Per definition we'd search the on screen credits from the DVD. - Are there any credits on the DVD?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that.
Unfortunately the dvd only contains videos and no credits.
The menu has a 'Credits' option but that only shows the maker of the dvd and record company  .

So the only thing close to credits is in the liner notes of the package.

I think, for the purpose of a common name, this should be treated as uncredited...

Thank you for your effort

Based on this very weak information for now the common name is: J. T. Taylor
