| Posted: | | | | Quick question about Keep Cases vs. Boxes... with a television season, say for instance "Supernatural: The Complete Fifth Season" which comes in a case that closes like a Keep Case but is much thicker, would this be deemed a Keep Case (because of the way it closes) or a Box (because it's thicker than a Keep Case)? Just curious. | | | *Avatar credit: http://burymyregret.livejournal.com/ |

| Posted: | | | | That would still be a keep case. The size of the keep case don't matter. Just the kind of case it is. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Hi together Can somebody tell me what kind of case this is. It is like a box, you can take away the top of it and then a HD Keep Case with the films stands inside. Here the image: Thanks, Fridu | | | * 3D TV Panasonic TX-P65VT30J + Blu-ray Player Panasonic DMP-BDT500 My Filmcollection online: www.filmkino.ch * |

| Posted: | | | | Hey guys, I've got one heads-up, one question, and one dead horse that still needs a little more beating. Heads-up: we seem to have lost the pictures of the box, back on page one. The evidence seems to point to those two pictures being at photobucket, where all the rest are at imageshack. Question: there were some cases that were used predominantly by ADV (as far as I know) for Earth: Final Conflict and a lot of their anime stuff. These cases were built in layers so they could hold from one to six discs. Would these also be considered Keep Cases? Dead horse: I'm STILL confused about the difference between a Slip Cover and a Slip Case. I've read through this thread twice, and page 9 where it is discussed about four times, and I still don't know how we are determining the difference between the two. Please help! |

| Posted: | | | | When it comes to Slip cover and Slip case it all depends on how many inner cases there are. If it is one case inside a slip ... say like a single digipak. Then it is the case type (digipak) with slip cover checked. But if it contains 2 or more cases then it is a slip case and the child profiles gets the individual case types. | | | Pete |

So one of those anime art boxes that hold seven keep cases would be a Slip Case for the box, with Keep Case for the contents. X-Files (the version I have) would be Slip Case, with THINPak for the contents. Right? How about the ADV cases? Are they Keep Cases? |

What happened with the box pictures ? Maybe Xaphan can answer this. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. [Ken Cole, DVD Profiler Architect] |

| Posted: | | | | There aren't many pics online for this set, but I did find an angled picture of the front. I will describe the case. Large cardboard box where you open it up by the front. You lift up the front cover and inside is a digipak of the films on 8 discs. So what type of case is this, a box, slipcase or custom? Also what I use for the children profiles? I was thinking just digipak. |

| Posted: | | | | Re: The images as an example for "Box". I have two "Box"-releases in my collection (both the German BD ones): LORD OF THE RINGS and STAR WARS - with the latter actually being no "Box" if this is still general consensus: Quoting ninehours: Quote: (...) a "Box" can contain any type of case inside it like Slip Case or Slip Cover but it does not have a permanent opening like these case types do it usually has a closing flap or lid (Chocolate Box type) which has to be opened to access the case/cases inside. So here a three pics that should illustrate at least one such "Box" set. Feel free to add one or all of them to the opening post. | | | Last edited: by orbital |

But if it contains 2 or more cases then it is a slip case and the child profiles gets the individual case types. Thanks for that. I did a good part of reading today to finally get around "Boxes", "Slip Cases", "Slip Covers" etc. so for the sake of having it (more or less) "centralized" I'd like to quote two postings I found in other threads in addition: Quoting Ken Cole ( link): Quote: Slip Case should be used when the profile itself has no other case. If the box set includes individual cases for children, all surrounded by a slip case, the box set profile will have slip case as the case type and the children will have their individual case types. If the box set has a single multi-disc case surrounded by a cover, use the multi-disc case type for the box set and check the slip cover checkbox.
I'll take a stab at wording this succinctly for inclusion in the rules. and Quoting hal9g ( link): Quote: (...) Simplified Rule:
One unit in a sleeve = inner case type + slip cover Multiple units in a sleeve = Slip Case, no slip cover | | | Last edited: by orbital |
