I think it is fine the way it is right now. Not that many options to be bothersome... but if you are planning on adding more options to the menu then you may want to separate them.

I totally agree with you.
Certainty of death...
Small chance of success...
What are we waiting for ?!

Version 2.2

New: Retrieve episode data from online pool (announcements here)
New: Assign episodes to profiles
New: Show episodes (including episode specific cast and crew) for profile
New: Edit additional infos for profiles and for episodes
Fix: Some minor issues in award editor
Fix: Setting of auto-sync flag works again
Fix: Fixed syncing of flagged profiles (stopped working after the first use)

I have merged my development of CCViewer and CCVPlugin into one workspace. Now it is easier for me to develop those in parallel and integrate more features of CCViewer into the plugin.
If there is interest, I will continue this. Among others, the following would be possible to integrate (with varying degree of effort):
- editing episodes / TV series
- setting watched dates and review for episodes
- HTML export/Skin handling
- SQL Queries
- Charts

Please let me know if there is interest in this. If it is worth for me to spent the efforts.

I will post here what I said on the other forum... in case someone here can explain what it is I am missing...

I downloaded the update... I have to admit I look at this episode thing and have no idea what so ever it is supposed to do. I also don't know about combining awards info with episode info... but that could be because I don't understand what any of this episode stuff is supposed to do. Is it making changes to the actual profiles? If so then I really don't like that idea. I personally don't think the plugin should change anything in the profiles. I personally think it is better to be two different plugins if you want to do something with episodes as a plugin. But hey... that is just my line of thinking. As I said... from someone that is completely confused about what I am looking at.

How it is working is in the readme. And no, of course it doesn't change anything in the profile.
This plugin is called Cinematic Collection Viewer Plugin for a reason (even though it is mainly used as award plugin by most). It serves as a connection to the Cinematic Collection Viewer database. And any change you make with my plugin, is only done there. Nothing is done in the Profiler database.

And I think if you see what the episode handling does, it would be for great use for you.
I always said that I don't like the episode handling in DVD Profiler. This is one of the reasons that I still maintain the CCViewer. Now I brought some of the features of it to DVD Profiler.

I always planned to have more features of my CCViewer tool integrated into this plugin. Therefore the name. I don't want to create single plugins for all those features. For one thing it is too much effort. And another thing is, that the user would have the hassle to configure every plugin extra, even though everything does the same (make a connection to the Viewer database and retrieve info).
If someone only wants to use awards, he has the option to only integrate the award windows into his layout, and leave the other windows closed.

Here the excerpt from the readme:

Episode handling:
1) You can download TV series data via "Tools->CCVPlugin->Online Update TV Series..."
2) Assign episodes to a profile ("Tools->CCVPlugin->Assign Episodes...", or via context menu in main collection list)
3) Open the windows "Episodes", "Cast (CCV)" and "Crew (CCV") via "View->Windows" and place the windows where you like
4) Click on episode will now show cast and crew of this episode. And also additional info in Info window ("View->Windows->Info")
5) You can edit additional infos of episode via context menu in episode list

Additional Infos:
You can edit additional infos for profiles ("Tools->CCVPlugin->Edit Additional Info...", or via context menu in main collection list) and for episodes (context menu in episode list).
Additional Infos are shown in Info window ("View->Windows->Info")

One possibility would be that I would go the other direction: Offer less but without Viewer database.
I.e. no episode specific watched dates and additional info. And no episode data from my online pool. But simply parse the cast and crew from the Profiler profiles and create a episode list with episode specific cast and crew. But then nothing more would be possible.

I do understand it a little more... as I originally read the read me file wrong (thought it said html windows for some reason). But still  don't see it as for me too much unless I am still missing something. So please don't go just by me. Definitely wait and get more feedback!

Great work, Tom. I'm just beginning to explore the possibilities.

I which that Ken would implent some of these features/data fields.

One bug though:

Importing some of the TV cast + crew data produces errors and it stops importing.

Error message is in german (maybe due to my german Win XP):

"Ungültige Konvertierung von der Zeichenfolge 01+02 in Typ Integer"
(bold part is sometimes different)

This happens on 10-20 TV shows, for example "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine".

I think it is because on some series the dividers list invalid characters such as "01+02", "B01" and some others.
Checking the dividers and changing them to a standard format should solve it quickly.

During the development of the last plugin version, I decided to switch numerical only for episode numbers. But I remembered that there were non-numerical episode numbers, which I decided to map to "0". But I have to admit that I didn't test this code , as I don't use non-numericals episode numbers locally anymore.
I will have to look into this.

I forgot to consider this conversion in the TV import
I considered it only for existing database entries.

Would it help you if I make a list of all affected series?

If you don't mind the work. Then I would adjust the online data.
Otherwise the next release of the plugin (currently not planned because there are no other changes besides this) would handle these automatically.

If it could be done automatically, I'd wait since it looks like there are not that many users at the moment.

Maybe I will release a new version today after all. I found and fixed a bug in the award editor yesterday, which can result in loosing data.
