  • Selective update of front or back cover scans.

  • No need to accept both, if you only need one of them.

This will be a HUGE addition for me.  There are many times I want one, but not the other.  Can't wait!

  • New command "Copy Existing Custom Crew".

  • This will allow you to persist your custom crew entries by copying them to the clipboard *before* accepting a crew update and appending them to the profile afterwards.

I think the plugin could be even better if something like this would work for cast as well. For instance if you have uncredited entries which do not exist in the online.

We have to see if that feature is even necessary. Maybe Ken will provide his own merge as discussed in the Custom Crew thread.

Anyway, I might come back to your "selective copy" suggestion (from a few pages back) in a future version, but not in the next one.

    Hi

I'm coming to this plugin late...but with eager anticipation.

But, I can't get it to work.

I've followed the install instructions (dedicated folder, vista workaround etc) but get the following message:

"The module "ProfileDiff.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80020009"

    Any suggestions?

The HTML window is in my system, but when I select it I get 'not installed properly' message.

That means you are not running with elevated admin privileges on Vista. Even if you are logged in as admin, you still don't have full privileges on Vista. You have to explicitly open a command prompt via "Run As Administrator" (again, even if you are already logged in as admin).

I will provide a proper Setup for all platforms with the next version. Way to tire me out, guys.

I'm probably being dense....but how to I do that?

I'm running as administrator...but, you indicate that's not enough. So, how to I "Run As Administrator"?

On the start menu, there is somewhere an entry "Command Prompt". Right-click on it to popup a context menu, then click "Run As Administrator".

    Goodguy,

You noted a couple weeks ago the existing PCP won't properly work once v3.5 contributions are allowed.

I'm running into an issue now using the beta (build 1211).  It only impacts Blu-ray updates.

When i do a Refresh Updated Profiles then select Preview Changes if the disc in question is a Blu-ray i get:
    Quote:
    Initializing...
    'DP_RegionAll' is undefined

and nothing else.  I can switch to the default preview and see the differences.  Or if I click on OK and move to the next profile i get the same thing with another Blu-ray.  Things work normally for DVD profiles.

Because of the use of the word Region i suspected the Region field (Before update: Local: 'A'; Online: Region free).  I tried changing the Local to Region free, then multi-region to see if it changed anything.  It didn't.

I tried uninstalling then reinstalling PCP to eliminate any potential issues.  This also had no impact.

And i'm running the released v3.1 on my laptop and tracking profiles in parallel there.  It has no issues.

    Some example UPCs:
    883904116677 - Die Another Day
883904116714 - For your Eyes Only
883904116738 - From Russia With Love
    024543533696 - Firefly

Looking forward to the v3.5 updates.

    Thanks.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

The current PCP version is unable to handle Blu-ray region codes (as introduced in DVDPro 3.5) and will fail to display any Blu-ray comparisons. This will be fixed in the next release.

Can't get it to work at all. The plugin is there, but when selecting the HTML (from DaddyDVD's layout), it shows me the following error:

    Initializing...
This preview skin cannot be used outside the profile comparison window.

Tried several things, but it doesn't work for me
Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer.

I've occasionally gotten this error message - usually when I reload the layout I'm using (like when I lose a tab and can't restore it and have to reload/restore the layout).  There's probably a better way to do it, but I've found that it works if I (1) uninstall PCP and then (2) reinstall it.

    @goodguy:

Matthias, now that 3.5 has gone out of Beta testing and is the release version, can we expect a revision to your plugin soon?  The version I'm using now recognizes, for example, that there is a difference between the local Studios/Media Publisher fields and what is in the online version, we just don't know what that difference is, because the Media Publisher field isn't shown.

    Same for rating details.

I don't mean to sound pushy, because I know you go to a lot of work to maintain your plug-in.  But it's just that we're going to see a lot of updates come down the pipe before too long (in fact we're seeing them already) and it's hard to validate changes you can't see.

Until the plugin-api is updated, it will be very hard to add the new features. I also would love to have an updated version of this plugin! But right now Goodguy's hands are tied.

edit: now that I think about it, some changes could be made to the layout skin part, but I would guess that this would not cover everything.

    Yes. Soon.

The new release will not depend on the updated Plugin API (as pdf256 assumed). It is stalled, because I have a rather full plate for quite some time now and can't spend as much time as I want on finishing the plugin.

Thank you for mainting your interest in this.  I can well understand how it might be  hard to find time to update the plug in.  I never seem to be able to find the things I absolutely must do let alone time for the things I merely WANT to do.  There are still only 24 hours in a day, and we must sleep for some of them and do the work that pays the rent another part of the day.

Your layout is that it's well worth the wait.  I couldn't begin to do it myself.  I wouldn't even know where to begin.
