Basically, you can set the minimum number of lines a chunk of indentical credits must have before it gets hidden, because it doesn't make much sense to hide only four or five lines. I'm wondering how it would work with TV series - would the dividers still be shown even if you hide unchanged entries? Interesting point, I hadn't thought about that. Dividers are specially helpful in some TV series (Dark Shadows, many UK series) were the credits for the same actor is different from episode to episode. The dividers help to locate the differences.

I was thinking... Wouldn't it be great if you could mark which changes in the new cast/crew you want in or out before using copy so you do not have to use an external editor afterwards? Too complicated, but more importantly, it would still lack the flexibility of a freetext-based credits editor. The BY-stripping is a compromise in that regard, because accepting a BY can alter an existing cast/crew person and sometimes that's the only thing you want to prevent. Your comparison plugin already can see the differences between the two profiles so I thought it would be "easy" to use flags to indicate which changes you want in/out. Maybe I overestimated your skills or I underestimate the complexity, I don't know. If you have a previous version installed, you can simply overwrite the old files. Just make sure, you have closed DVD Profiler. Don't forget that you also have to replace the "goodguy PCP Preview" skin. New Features in Version 1.1.0Fold credits to hide chunks of unchanged credit entries and focus on differences in large cast and crew lists with small changes. This feature is both optional and customizable.
Menu with advanced commands. To display the menu, either click on Advanced Options at the top of the comparison page, or right-click anywhere on the middle column containing the section labels.• Open in New Window
Displays the current comparison in a new browser window. Useful if you don't want to accept the update of an entire section, but would like to apply partial changes manually. Since the new window is not modal, you can now use DVD Profiler's Edit window and view the comparison at the same time.
• Flag This Profile
Flag or unflag the currently compared profile in DVD Profiler. Useful if you are going through a batch of updates and want to review some of them more thoroughly later.
• Copy Cast/Crew
Copies the new or the existing cast or crew as XML to the clipboard, optionally with birth years removed. Useful if you want to make partial cast and crew changes manually. The copied XML can be edited with Notepad or a third party credits editor and finally pasted into DVD Profiler. Optional use of credit types (Writing, Sound, etc.) as headers if crew doesn't contain dividers.
Optional subtitle sort.

| | Posted: | | | | help  I was using this plug in and once i got past microsoft not giving me permissions to do anything on my system (stupid vista) it was working great. I than changed up my layout and then when i went to preview the next batch of changes and i no longer had the preview available. So i figured i'd reinstall the new version...so after updating my dvd profiler and installing the plug as per the directions it was still not available so sad as this plug in made checking profile differences so different (as im sure everyone that uses it knows) -Agrare |
