I have the same problem as GSyren with Windows Vista Business when starting DVDP. However, I'm not using any launcher, just plain Windows methods to start DVDP. For me re-installing Profiler didn't help. After un-installing PCP, Profiler works again. Any ideas?

Right-click on the shortcut you are using to launch DVD Profiler. Go to the Compatibility tab. Make sure *none* of the compatibility settings are activated.

Until Matthias finds a real solution, try launching DVDP as administrator.

There is no need to run DVDProfiler and PCP as Admin.

It helped me to run DVDP with registered version of PCP until I found my way around starting problem (that powershell solution I wrote earlier). I noticed that with AutoHotkey I could only run DVDP+PCP using admin rights. With unregistered PCP there was no such problem.

Thanks!  That helped. For some reason the desktop icon for DVDP had the "Run in compatibility mode" checked. I un-checked it, re-installed PCP and now DVDP works again.

Where I can send you my money? Sure you can wait for me to register.

Have you changed your default view in DVD Profiler to something different?

If you uninstall the PCP plugin, you have to change the preview skin for comparisons to something other than the "goodguy PCP Preview", for example to DVD Profiler's "Default Preview".

EDIT:
On second thought, the "trial expired" shouldn't appear at all if the plugin was uninstalled successfully, the PCP skin should just say that the plugin is not installed.

On the Tools menu of DVDProfiler, click View Plugins. PCP should no longer be in the list of plugins. If it still is, uncheck it. Also, look if PCP still appears in the list of installed software (control panel, add/remove programs). If it does, try to Uninstall it again.

Hi - I've been using this plugin for a couple years and all of a sudden I'm getting the following error on every profile:

Initializing...
Error -2147024883 (0x8007000d)

I've tried doing a database repair and reinstalling the plugin but nothing helps.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

That's usually a data corruption caused by a crash of DVD Profiler and/or Internet Explorer. To fix it:

Launch Internet Explorer and execute the  Delete Browsing History -> Delete Cookies command.

In his last post on the forum, he said that he would update it for his current customers once the final 3.6 was released. (Hopefully that will happen to the Name Variants plugin too)

I hope he stays behind his words since contributions are alredy activated in 3.6. In few days they will accepted and then if ever we would need this plugin.

I have received a few PMs from users who are concerned about the future of Profile Comparison Plus. I will therefore briefly break my silence to clarify a few things:

1) Once DVD Profiler 3.6 goes final, I will start working on an updated version of Profile Comparison Plus (PCP) to support the changes and new features. I hope that this will go smoothly and won't take too long. However, I have not participated in the Beta phase of v3.6, and I'm therefore unable to make any estimation as to the timeframe. Once the new version of PCP is ready, I will post a download link here.

2) The new version of PCP is intended for existing customers only. It is free of charge regardless of registration date, even if the registration happened more than a year ago. New registrations are not possible and there is no trial period to test the software without a registration.

Since my last post here in September 2009, I have taken occasional glances at the forum. My impression is that the forum situation hasn't improved and that Invelos is still unwilling to address the real issues.

I will therefore continue to stay away from the Invelos forums and I have ceased to support and distribute the plugins and other tools I once developed for DVD Profiler and its community. Doing otherwise would imply that I find the current state of affairs at least tolerable. I hereby assure all of you, but especially Ken Cole, that I don't.

Sorry to hear you're keeping your word on this one.  I expected nothing less of course!  I'm just annoyed that I never purchased PCP while I had the chance.  This was my favorite add-on.

Hopefully things will eventually change allowing your return.

I'm looking forward to the update.  This is the plug-in i use daily.  I can easily validate changes before i submit them and i can easily see what others have done when their submissions are approved.
