Image Contribution Declined Dec 10 2007 12:35PM

Tried again with this extra tekst:
Quote:

There is no use of a third party database in this contribution other than for confirmation of common name as Ken has asked us to do...  (+ the text as over)

Profile Contribution Declined Dec 10 2007  1:06PM
Image Contribution Declined Dec 10 2007  1:06PM

And then Third time golden, this time with the only contribution text:
Quote:
New contribution

Profile Contribution Approved Dec 10 2007  1:09PM
Image Contribution Approved Dec 10 2007  1:09PM

Reason for decline:  An invalid source, such as a third party database, was listed in the contribution notes. Use of a third party database is not allowed per the contribution rules.

No more long contribution text from me on new contribution,
and I am newer going to use the name Imdb in a contribution ever again...

Well, what I see for one thing is unclear. You notes relative to Common name are not clear, what were you chhoosing and IMDb was certainly an invalid reference source for that. Based on the lookup tool the name should be...Nikolaus Kraemer. However, had I seen that Contribution I would have voted NO because you provide NO DOCUMENTATION that Nikolaus Kraemer=Nikolaus Krämer, similar names perhaps, same person????.that is an assumption I will not make and will ALWAYS document it or not submit the data.

I doubt it. I did a profile for Young & Innocent, I think it was, mentioning in the notes that I had taken the role names directly from IMDB, as the actual credits didn't provide them.

It got accepted...

Well Ken said it was ok to use the Imdb to deside common name.
A search for the names in both order come up with the Kraemer.

and from rules: To determine whether to enter the name directly as credited, or to use the "Credited As" field, use the Credit Lookup tool.

But this is of topic, this was about the automated decline not about my contribution...

Look at the timeline for the contributions...
Only three minutes between the, declined contribution with the explaination and the aprowed short version, and this was on two of the profiles contributed at the same time, with the Imdb in it.

There is no automated system for screening. Contributions can be accepted or declined within momements of putting them up if we are caught up on new DVD contributions. New DVDs are moved to the front of any changes to existing DVDs that are currently pending.

Ah that why I have the impression when we contribute a new DVD it was so quick I have thought there had some automatic function to manage them

In German you can write "ä" as "ae" and it's the same. It's used when a German name with an "ä" is used in the US or anywhere where you don't have this letter. The actor Jürgen Prochnow is many times spelled as Juergen Prochnow or Jurgen Prochnow. The same is done with Krämer and Kraemer.

I submitted a disambiguation just a few days ago that cited IMDb data among other sources, and it was accepted fine.

But there might be some off chance that there are two actors, one using the name Nikolaus Krämer and the other using Nikolaus Kraemer.  The Screen Actor's Guild requires all its members to have a unique credit - but they probably consider Krämer and Kraemer to be the same name.  What I'm saying is that there's always a possiblity (remote though it may be) that there are two actors named Nikolaus Krämer/Kraemer.  I doubt it and wouldn't vote against a contribution that said there is only one actor -- but then I'm not an absolutist when it comes to credit data.

Well then there must be a new toy in town highlitening Imdb and such as?
It surtenly looked that way to me as two profiles where declined in the same time twise,
and then approved after removing the text..
