I have 2 versions of this movie (the 1974 classic) and audited them both tonight due to the credits not matching up in my local. I watched the credits on both and can confirm they are identical in everyway, although the wording of a few left me wondering if they should get credits submitted. Let me know how you feel about each of these:

"Rerecording" - Paul Harrison

"Post Production Sound" - Wayne Bell

"Dubbing Mixers" - Buzz Knudson, Jay Harding

They all sound close to existing credits, but due to wording don't fall clearly into the rules.

I have no Paul Harrison in my collection at all. While one could be inclined to credit him as Sound Re-recording Mixer I'd personally leave him out.

"Post Production Sound" - Wayne Bell

In my collection I have Wayne Bell as Composer for Texas I and IV as well as Production Sound Mixer for Texas II. which actually quite confuses me... As "Post production Sound" is a very general term and could be anything from Sound Designer to Sound Editor I would not credit him for this.

this one is not to be credited. In Great Britain they use this for Re-Recording Mixers and is therefore occasionally argued over, but in the US Dubbing is for ADR, which is not credite din DVD Profiler.

I agree with Achim.

None of these should get credits in DVDP.

The only one I'd argue over is "Rerecording" that should be credited as "Sound Re-recording Mixer".  Yes, the crew credits in the rules list it as "Sound Re-recording" in the examples, but if the credit is in the "Sound" section of the credit, wouldn't that pretty much be implied?  They're not "Carpenter Rerecording" or "Caterer Rerecording" or anything people always worry about we're going to start crediting.  They're obviously being credited for Sound Rerecording and should be listed as such.

The other two mentioned, I agree, should not be credited at this time.

"Rerecording" - Paul Harrison: Credit as Sound Re-Recording Mixer

"Post Production Sound" - Wayne Bell: Credited as Sound

"Dubbing Mixers" - Buzz Knudson, Jay Harding: Not credited

This, of course, is just my opinion and how I would credit them. Your mileage may vary...which I can see from the post here, it does .

Making matters even more confusing, there was specific no sound section. It's like the credits were just random thouights thrown together as they popped up.
Maybe Ken or Gerri will find this thread and lay down some official words, if it stays split I'll probably just end up leaving them all off.

I would agree with 8ballMax on thist Post Production is just telling you when the sound was done.  So
Wayne Bell should be credited only as Sound.  Dubbing doesn't get credited at this time.

Just to be clear, I said the "Rerecording" is the only one I'd argue about.

Slightly against my earlier post, I'm leaning more towards Bell being "Sound" mainly just for the vagueness of his credit, but it's obviously to do with Sound, so I wouldn't vote No on that.  At the same time I wouldn't curse my monitor and lock my profiles if the guy wasn't credited.

Unfortunately, the "Dubbing" guys don't even come close unless we're talking about a CoO of UK movie and then maybe there's an arguement.

But you're adding both "Sound" at the beginning and "Mixer" at the end.  You are making assumptions about this person's actual job.
