| | Posted: | | | | Why use the backup function of DVD Profiler at all? I just back up the DVD Profiler data folder from My Documents and I'm done. Everything follows: databases, layouts, saved filters, saved flag set, reports, even translations. And to be safe, I also backup the DVD Profiler from Program Files (for the plugins), and from Application Data (for the DOD files (we all know what happens if these are not present and can't be retrieved) and the currently in-use layout)  No need for the dpb file at all (which takes way too long to do, as opposed to just copying the above mentioned folders). |

I do my own backup each evening but I still like having the separate DVD profiler backup since that is easier to manage - so yes - can we have the option of backing up the cast photo main (and uPC directories). Also, will there be a method of extracting all the photos which are in the database and putting these into the external directory? | | | | Paul |

If there was a way to automatically put them in the external directory that would be brilliant! :D |

I use tags for Custom genres now... but looking forward to seeing how this will work. The partial cut and past (and the ability to append cast and crew) will also be very helpful for TV Series. Another one that I am looking forward to checking out is the profile gallery. I use an HTML window for this now for several profiles... but am interested in how it is done here... especially since there is a slide show option.  | | | | Pete |

I normally use a SourceSafe (version control system) plugin to do that, but since the Plugin API is essentially broken since 3.1, this solution is limited in some cases. Which brings me to repeat my comment from the "one wish" thread: I really, really hope that all the new features (whatever they might be) are supported in the Plugin API, the HEADER_VARS and the DP tags.
