OK, now I'm confused. I tried to add BY for Steven Williams 1949 who plays in several X-files episodes. They all got declined right away with note "Please use birth years only to distinguish between otherwise identical cast and crew. New birth year submissions must be documented".

My notes were:
"- Rating corrected using new rating category. Source: covers
- Birth Year for Steven Williams (1949) from "List of Accepted Birth Years with Documentation" in Invelos forum"

Documentation can be found from that thread: link

What did I do wrong? Is that thread useless for now on?

I did the exact same thing and it got declined, i raised a support ticket and it was changed to approved within minuets

I raised a ticket too, let's see how it goes, but still...we need CLEAR rules which kind of document is required and if we can use accepted BY thread as a reference.

It's impossible to find BY's for "normal" people who have been interviewed in a document or in "semi-reality show" and therefore have been mentioned in credits. There are a LOT of these "normal" (read, not movie star) people credited in Discovery Channel shows only.

Try:
Rides (all seasons)
Overhaulin' (all seasons)
Monster Garage (all seasons)
and so on...

People should not be allowed on a DVD-recorded show without presenting their birth certificate!

Maybe it's time for a new feature request: a tickbox to indicate whether or not copies of the cast and crew's birth certificates, Green Cards, passports etc. are included in the release...

That's perfect, then we can use their social security number as a unique identifier. Problem solved.

I stopped bothering with crew years ago when role disputes made things too hard. I've barely messed with cast because of BY. I think I'm just going to stop all together. This makes it impossible. From now on, I am king of audio and aspect ration. Those are usually straight-forward.
