How do we enter alternative covers if they are part and parcel of the edition in question?

Example is [R2, Germany] Die Another Day, which comes with it's new style one and the SE sytle one on the back.

Evo:

Not sure I know what you mean. If you are referring to an altenate cover with the same UPC/EAN #, you don't Contribute it per the Rules. But I would definitely tell you to maintain it locally as it is what YOU own. Original release cover and data takes precedence Online over ANY re-release using the same UPC/EAN#

Agree with Skip with the following exception

If the case is released with variant covers (as in Sin City) then the community should decide which one to use.

The German DAD came in its first print with a reversable cover, one side shows what I contributed with the profile this afternoon. The other side was created to conform with the German SE of the Bond movies up to then [front and back essentially identical to the SE in GB and US, on the spine was a special graphic giving a stylised smoking gun when put together with the other discs].

So, the alternative cover was part of the original release. Since the original release also came in a cardboard slider, I use both - the slider [as contributed] shows the original art work, the alternative cover gives me the smoke and conformity with the rest of the SEs.

Clearer?

Sounds to me like something you should work out with your fellow countrymen.

Either one would be right, although it could be argued that whatever side was showing (assuming all were released with the same side showing) that is the one that should be used.

EDIT: Have you discussed it HERE http://www.dvdprofiler-forum.de/

Why should it be something for the German forum to sort out. I know what Evo2Me is talking about, as I have the James Bond collection myself. The collection was released with a graphic on the spine to display the 007 logo. Die Another Day (EAN 5-050070-009804) was released after the set but has reversable covers, one side has a mainly light coloured back ground the reverse has a mainly dark coloured back ground for inclusion with the rest of the set.

I am a UK resident with only Region 2 UK locality DVD's, as I see it this could also lead to ping-ponging of covers as both are printed /release at the same time. So therefore I think this is a valid question.

Yip, the problem is not limited to us stupid Germans [see above on Sin City - and my question is not so much about either-or but a possibility to enter such alternatives.

I understood the title to be a German release of a movie. That's all. Which, if it was, would make sense not to get get everyones input since it doesn't affect everyone. I know of a few instances like this where the smaller community made a decision and just did it. It is sometimes easier that way, if you know what I mean.

I misunderstood what the movie was and gave the wrong advice. My bad.

No one called anybody "stupid".

The fact is you cannot enter more than one cover. There is no "possibility to enter such alternatives". If a cover is released with variants then the community has to decide which one to use.

If you want to have the option of entering more than one cover the program will have to change. Try a feature request.

I'm done with this topic. I seem to be getting people upset for some reason.  Good Luck.

I've have the same with Ichi the Killer (present, what a strange movie that is).

I have a different cover/back than 'originally' released.
As Skip said, per the rule, we keep the first one released?
