We'll see how long it lasts. Colombiana is coming to theaters and The Words is scheduled for 2012

As usual for accented names, the common name only depends on the choices of capitalization of the credit makers.

ZOE SALDANA = Zoë SALDANA = Zoë Saldaña (real name)

Just using correct spelling when changing from all caps to small letters would avoid those threads (and would avoid non linking data).

Colombiana: Zoe Saldana
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

As for me, in my edition, it is Zoé SALDANA:

I hope there are not too many variants in credits for each movie, which would complicate the very simple tool we call CLT

First time I've seen it with that accent... We really need an overhaul soon with this system.

As for the current results, it seems she's (or the studio's graphic/font department) going back and forth between Zoe and Zoë.

I do not have many movies with her, but never saw Zoe. Only ZOE.

It's Zoe in Colombiana (US version anyway)...

It's David/Dave Chappelle in Con Air again!

That's the first time I've seen it as Zoé (magazine articles, movie credits, anything...)

Once we have reached a conclusion, we can be fairly certain what the 'common name' for the actor or actress concerned is.

A lot of these actors have multiple names and are incorrectly entered for lots of profiles. These threads help to determine what the common name in the CLT should be.

Currently 'Zoë Saldana' is the more common form, but not by much.

Where she is credited as something other than 'Zoë Saldana' we can then use the 'credited as' feature to maintain links in our local databases.

Zoë Saldana [Zoe Saldana] or similar.

Wait for the next 3 movies and the non-accented will probably be common. It seems the newer films don't have the accent, but gets messy if the same movie says different things in different regions.

Since "Colombiana" is a French movie, I think the credit we should take in account for this movie is the French edition (original credit with Zoé). So we have only 9 Zoe Saldana, and need at least  4 Zoe to have a common name change. We get also a fourth variant for her name, which should be listed.

And I don't think we should discount the regular Zoe. It's just another alternative. Personally, if someone else wants to take this over, fine by me. I'm hoping we get another system in, though I'm not going to hold my breath.
