I purchased this through Amazon in November, and submitted a request (including the key received from Amazon and the user name to which it should be applied) to have my account activated via the Contact Us link a few weeks ago.  My account is still showing as free and I cannot install the software.

I am frustrated, as it has been more than 6 weeks since my initial purchase.  Help?

You might want to contact Invelos support to assist you:

@dee1959jay, Thanks for the response.

Your link takes me somewhere that I cannot access because I am using a free account, but if it's the form you fill out via the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page, that is what I submitted a few weeks ago.

Oh I see, sorry. The link was for creating a 'support ticket'.

I'm merely a fellow user, so I can't help you personally. Which options does the support section of this website give you as a free user?

I believe the app sold on Amazon is only for Android or Amazon Fire devices and not the PC.  In which case, this would be by design.  If this wasn't the item you wanted you could try requesting a refund through Amazon.

Both the app and the main PC program are available to purchase thru Amazon.

I'm a little confused as to exactly what issue the OP is having...can you not install the program at all or can you not get the Activation Key to work? You say your account is still marked as free but you also say you can't install the program...those are 2 different things. If you can get the program installed and are having trouble with the Key, have you tried going to Tools > Registration Information > Enter Product Activation Key (it even has the Amazon logo on it)?

Ok, I found the PC software but it doesn't automatically show up at the top of the list when performing a general search.  It did show up when searching via Software.

Edit: Looking at the Amazon reviews it seems other customers have had issues activating Amazon keys.

According to Ken, the following procedure should be used:
Quote:
From DVD Profiler's main menu, select Tools->Registration Information. Click the Amazon button labeled 'Enter Product Activation Key', and enter the key you received from Amazon there. If you have any further difficulty, please use the Contact Us link at the bottom of invelos.com.

Hope that helps.

The PC version of the software asks for the registration key during the install process, and if the key purchased through Amazon has not yet been activated by someone from Invelos, the software will return an error and will not install.  Someone in June had the same issue (forum topic about halfway down the page), and an Invelos person posted and (presumably) resolved it.  It seems that a manual intervention is required by Invelos to activate accounts purchased through Amazon.

So Invelos has my money without giving me the product.  I like the software and while I realize that I can file a claim with Amazon to get a refund and repurchase it through this website in a way the software inherently supports, but I'm not sure that's wise given the lack of any support at all.

I believe you can install the 'trial version', from the download link at the top of the page, then go in and follow the instructions given by Ken to enter your registration key.

Hi Dela,
I'm not exactly sure where the problem lies but for Amazon activation you click "Tools/Registration information..." and on the new window click on the Amazon icon and enter the key provided.

I have done that.  Shortly after I enter the Amazon Registration Key, I get an error that says, "Access violation at address 009AA4FD in module 'dvdpro.exe'. Read of address 00000330."

According to another New Users Forum thread from June of this year, this error seems to be because Amazon registration keys require a manual intervention by an Invelos person to complete the install.  I assume in the past this was done in a timely manner so purchasers could use the software, but that is not the case now.

Again, thanks for the responses.

I wouldn't base my opinion of Support on sluggish response over a National Holiday. They are people too. I would follow the advice of "TheMadMartian" and go ahead and install the software in trial mode and get started. You won't lose any work. Just make frequent backups, and you can register at any time thereafter to get the benefit of the enhanced features.
Thanks for your support.
