Say, have 20-25 dvd's flagged, and bulk print the lables using a picked template.

So instead of print one at a time, printing batches of say 20-30 at a wack.

Right now, when I print 1 label it waste almost an inch of tape on each label, when its cutting.

I would think if there is a way to string them back to back, that would remove most of the wasted label material.

As an example I used an entire label cart for 104 labels ( not counting the 15 or so test labels that were printed )

So thats ~104" of material wasted or about 8ft of a 26ft roll and at $20-$25 a cartridge it gets kinda spendy

I hope that, sorts it out better for you. Let me know if you need any more info.

105 down 800 ish to go.....

Hey man I appreciate your ingenuity and spunk. That's why I'm really motivated to help out, but the biggest problem I have is that I don't use a label printer, and ironically I don't even use the plugin. I wrote the thing based on the SDK documentation and with the help of a couple of people who have the printer. So bear with me, because it is difficult to imagine what is going on. I have no clue about the way tape works in the printer, etc. It was a long time ago that I wrote the code. Let me go and refresh my memory. Also, if I find the SDK documentation, I will ask you to take a look - maybe you will get an idea that will help solve it.

Ah ok,

Think of it like this :

<feed><cut><label><cut>

That is one label, that feed before cut is about 1"of material

ideally I would like to be able to flag say 20 or so disks and run the plug-in and get something like this :

<feed><cut><label><cut><label><cut><label><cut><label><cut><label><cut> etc

I'd be happy to take a look at the docs but I am a programmers worst nightmare, I am "The Idea" guy

I can work out flow tables / logic but the code stuff I become a mental midget.

Hell the reports menu in DVDP pisses me off, in all honestly it makes no sense to me on building reports. I need how to's for stuff like that and the DVDP help files for it are a joke.

Ok, just sent you the doc. I am using the BrssCOM interface for programmers, but the doc also has examples of how to print lables from scripts, Excel and MS Word.

Take a look at the section describing the "continuation mode" and batch lables. Of course I can handle the programming part, but I need guidance as to whether the function they describe is the same as what you want. No need for me to waste time if we can get it right the first time ...

Thanks.

Ok, calm down. You will find the reports generator to be incredibly powerful. Ken tends to lean towards functionality over documentation sometimes, so you might have to ramp up. It will be worth your patience. And also there is a "s-load" of stuff in the layouts forum. And a bunch of folks who are happy to help ... but they will ignore you if you lack patience ... word to the wise ...

Thanks, Ill take a look a bit later ( I am at work )

Oh I am not worked up, but as someone that comes into this, trying to build a report it is very unintuitive, then go to edit someone else's report and adding elements is just confusing as hell.

I'll put that on the list for future updates. Not sure when, but I should be able to do it.

Hello all

Got a nifty gift from my love one a: "Brother QL-570"... so off course I was excited to install the addon found linked on Invelos.

When I created my first label template and tried to print a sample I got this error: "The type initializer for 'P Touchlabel.P Touch' threw an exception. Would someone else encounter this error? (with a text editor I looked at the content of the template created and it is all gibberish .. nothing like !DVDtitle and so on... help?

Eric
p.s. I know.. the first post do mention not to post in this thread.. but I thought that since other did before... to risk it haha
p.p.s. I feel that I am very very close to make it work!!
