I'd say: if their names appeared on screen, they're not uncredited. Credited in an unusual way or place perhaps, but not uncredited. So certainly no need to alphabetize the cast. You could remove the "uncredited" though.

Also if my memory serves me right, some 'actors' are 'credited' multiple times, sometimes with different 'roles'. Should i watch the whole dvd again and credited some people twice using the different onscreen 'roles'?

Paul

If one and the same person played different roles, then I'd say yes, enter them twice. If it's just different names for one and the same role, then all I can recommend is to use your best judgment for what to enter.

I have to agree... just because they are not standard credits don't automatically make them Uncredited. If they are credited verbally (within the film) then they are still credited, IMO.

A name mentioned verbally is not a "standard credit":

"For the purposes of this section we define "standard" film credits as those where all credited actors involved are listed together in a single section at the end of the film - defined here as the "end credits".

Credits are a visual listing of either cast or crew involved in the production of a particular film or documentary. If they are not listed in either the beginning or ending credits then the only other option would be uncredited...IMO.

I never claimed a verbal credit is a standard credit, quite the contrary.

Again: from the rules:

If a film has no end credits, but does have actors credited elsewhere, enter the actors from those credits.

Now where does it say "listed" in here? It just says credited, and credited they are.

Please re-read that paragraph you quoted from the rules. It also says standard film credits (in DVDP's terminology) comes from the end of the movie. If that is not the case (like it is many times with tv-series) then we have to read the rules further and forget what is said about "standard credits".

The rules say:
Quote:
If a film has no end credits, but does have actors credited elsewhere, enter the actors from those credits.

That section says nothing about listing the cast in written format.

That is your interpretation, one that I do not share .

I'd really like to know the name of the film. Do you recall it? Is it available in DVD?

The credits for Jean-Luc Godard's Contempt are verbal only.

Apparently - judging by what happened to the contribution of mine that I mentioned earlier in this thread - it is shared by the Invelos screeners, however. And that's good enough for me.

Irrelevent. Many contributions, although initially approved by the screeners, were later reversed .

So now you agree with 8ballMax that verbal credits are not valid for DVDP purposes, but on page 1 you agreed with mdnitoil that they are valid. Please read the whole thread before you agree with anybody.

Nope not at all. I was agreeing that just because something was approved by the screeners is totally irrelevant. His comment appeared ro a very narrowly focused response to deejay.

The film you are thinking about is Laurel & Hardy's 1930 sound short, "Another Fine Mess".  Slightly longer than the majority of their 'shorts', this one ran for around half an hour.  Hope this helps.

Peter
